Next one will be Mistborn: The Final Empire

message 7: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) | 0 comments I have less than 100 pages to go for The Dragon Reborn. I'll certainly be on to the next book in the series within the month, but I've also been contemplating Shadowrise and The Dirty Streets of Heaven (love Tad Williams!).

message 8: by Tara (new)

Tara (tarabookreads) I just finished reading The Blinding Knife and started reading Poison Study. So far I am liking it..

message 9: by Shadowdenizen (new)

Shadowdenizen | 193 comments Dirty Streets of Heaven was definitely worth the read!

I've finished the Hungering Saga, and Part 1 of I am Providence.

Anumber of things in my queue next. I picked up the fist 3 volumes of "Chest of Souls". Anyone read and have any (non spoilery) thoughts?

message 10: by Dana (new)

Dana Simpson (danasimpson) I am reading flight PLan by Barbara Kingsolver.

message 11: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Just started City of Bones and still slowly going through The Rise of Endymion. I probably should have just stuck with the first two books.

Also got A Storm of Swords on hold for now.

message 12: by Razmatus (new)

Razmatus | 208 comments Čas opovržení (Zaklínač, #4) by Andrzej Sapkowski so far so good :P

message 13: by Abe (new)

Abe Reese Working on the sword of truth and the wheel of time series!

message 14: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished Phoenix Rising by Philippa Ballantine and Tee Morris and, since it was basically a fun story, continued right into The Janus Affair.

message 15: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (dward526) Wounds of Honour (Empire, #1) by Anthony Riches right now

message 16: by Katey (new)

Katey Reading Joe Abercrombie! On book 3 of the trilogy. I seriously haven't been as enamored with a character as I am with Sand Dan Glokta!

message 17: by Mpauli (new)

Mpauli At the moment I'm reading Nights of Villjamur (Legends of the Red Sun, #1) by Mark Charan Newton . So far it's on a four star course, 70% in.

Still unsure what's next. Empire State (Empire State, #1) by Adam Christopher or Consider Phlebas (Culture, #1) by Iain M. Banks or The Blade Itself (The First Law, #1) by Joe Abercrombie

message 18: by Katey (new)

Katey You should choose The Blade Itself.
You will adore it! If not Ill send you homemade cookies!

message 19: by Mpauli (new)

Mpauli All right, that is very enthusiastic offer, so The Blade Itself it is. :)

I have a feeling I'm going to like it...so I guess I have to eat my own cookies while reading the book.^^

Yay! Next on my agenda is Malazan or The Black Company or one of Neil Gaiman's books.

message 21: by Mpauli (new)

Mpauli Black Company is on the horizon for me as well, but as a huge Steven Erikson Fan I'll recommend the Malazan books. Very complex and challenging, but such a unique and wonderful experience.

message 22: by Chris (new)

Chris Right on Katey! I just finished the same trilogy, and Sand dan Glotka is the best anti-hero since Tyrion Lannister!

message 23: by Josephine (new)

Josephine Brooks (josephinelbrooks) The Black Company. I'm going to have to look up the Malazan books now. :) Thanks, guys.

Not as much time to read as I would like though."

"Promise of Blood'? When is that due? The Wise Man's Fear was, I thought, the sequel to Name of the Wind.

message 25: by Mark (new)

Mark The City by Stella Gemmell nearly finished, really good read.

Reading Gardens of the Moon (Malazan!)

Dave 100 pages to go in The Name of the Wind. Amazing stuff!

message 29: by Moira (new)

Moira Katson (moirakatson) | 2 comments I'm late to the party on Guy Gavriel Kay - I actually started with River of Stars last month, and this month I'm tackling Tigana, and loving it!

I saw Philippa Ballantine mentioned earlier - does anyone have thoughts on Kindred and Wings? I was intrigued by Hunter and Fox!

message 31: by S (new)

S (silverfishwithglasses) Blood Song Blood Song by Anthony Ryan.
Or the Farseer Assassin's Apprentice

message 32: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 1651 comments Finished The Janus Affair, which was even better than the first in the series, and started NOS4A2 by Joe Hill just for a change of pace. I bought the hardcover because my understanding is that he does some things with the text formatting that get lost in the eBook version.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Going to finish The West Point atlas of war: the Civil War,right now it's looking at three to four stars. The maps of the battle's are great. And it isn't so much political as it is warfare.

I know,it isn't SF or Fantasy.

message 34: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (jennyc89) Yesterday I finished Red Seas Under Red Skies and it was great! I can't wait for the third book and I'm so excited that there's a whole slew of books panned out for the Gentleman Bastard Series. Late last night I started White Trash Zombie Apocalypse and I'm already over 30% in. I'm also reading Blameless. I was hoping to finish Dead Reckoning this week but I left it in my car which is in the shop.

I loved the Gentleman Bastard books! I can't wait until the third book comes out. I loved the characters - especially Selendri and Father Chains. Those two books might demand a reread!!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Good to hear such good reviews on Gentleman Bastard series. But right after The West Point atlas of war: the Civil War I'll be starting the Magic Kingdom for sale/sold series.I was just given five of the books.

Martha (tilla) | 194 comments Just finished re-reading The Daemon Prism by Carol Berg (Book 3 of the Collegia Magica trilogy). Wonderful series with terrific characters and a wonderful world of magic, politics, etc. Such a good writer! I cry every time I finish the series because I so hate leaving.

message 39: by Tara (new)

Tara (tarabookreads) I just finished reading Poison Study it was an easy fun read. Now I started reading Untimed, love books on time travelling and hope this book turns out great..

message 42: by Martha (new)

Martha (tilla) | 194 comments Just about halfway through Lord of Storm and Shadows and still not sure I like it enough to read the next two or even finish this one. It's not *bad* just not the sort of thing I can really get into and I'm not even sure exactly why.

message 43: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 167 comments Today I read Hooked By You for a R and R, and I am reading The Dreamweaver's Journey and a true crime. After that, not sure.

message 46: by Elise (new)

Elise (ghostgurl) | 1028 comments Had to give up The Rise of Endymion. It was becoming a real drag...literally. The first two books were the best in the series anyway.

So, I'm reading Rituals instead, which I hope will be a good change of pace.
