Holy..freakin' hell, I have no idea. I KNOW I haven't read this--because I would have recalled the hero killing his unborn child, but I will be on the lookout for it. I WANT to read this badly!

I'm still WOWing over this one! I would make a shelf specifically FOR that 'when daddy's kill' trope. LOL That trope will stick out forever in someone's mind! Do you recall any kind of cover at all? A publishing date? Like, even generalization or around about when..etc.

Possibly if it fits into the one of the categories of my best lists (you can see the links on the right side of my blog: http://reganromancereview.blogspot.com. But I also read and review books that do not fall into the categories for my best lists...such as some 18th century historical romances.

Sara | 40 comments The part about the tea being given to cause a miscarriage sounds like Desire in the Sun by Karen Robards

message 10: by Sara (new)

Sara | 40 comments I know I have read this book because I remember the tea as well as the painting and the eye color. I guess I am going to have to start writing a description down of each book because so many books have some of the same descriptions in them that it can be confusing.

I don't think it's any on this list as the ones I've read listed here do not fit the plot.

It's not Desire in the Sun. See my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Patricia Guy (trish---) | 2 comments I'm hoping you can help with finding the title for this book!

Title:?
Author:?
Time Period: Before the Civil War.
Heroine:?
Hero:?
Setting: Mostly on a Plantation in the south.
Description: A young woman is married by proxy. When the groom arrives at the plantation she hides at the cabin of her mammy (black slave the woman who raised her and loves her). He finds her there is attracted to her and because of that he sells her. This is due to fact he wants to make a go of it with his marriage and older black woman doing voodoo. The first part of the book is him trying to track down the wife he sold. He finds her at a convent where she had given birth to twins. There is a lot more that happens including the heroine getting tarred and feathered but if read this I hope it will jar your memory and you tell me the title. Thanks.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 445 comments The tar and feathered part sounds familiar...I'll have to keep thinking.

Sounds like Jasmine Moon by Frances Patton Statham Jasmine Moon by Frances Patton Statham

Posing as a servant seemed a harmless deception, and the pretense gave Lili a chance to really know the man she'd married. But Lili had not reckoned on becoming her own husband's mistress. And before she could reveal her identity, Robert Tabor's honor forced him to deny their love.

Suddenly she was torn from her home, and sold as a slave -- thrust into a rugged, violent world, a hard struggling life that would take her from the Carolina plantation to the wilds of Canada.

An extraordinary story of a romance and a passion that would not die....

P.S. I think it is on Kindle too.

Enjoy. :)
