Joshua (geoff876544) | 7 comments I'm hoping that good recommendations can be made based off what I've read. I'm looking at the recommendations that Goodreads gives and I'm not really sure.

I have a list for all the fantasy I've read.
http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/...

I've had to take a break from Fantasy and start reading scifi because I'm running out of books to read.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

T You have read a lot of the stuff I would suggest. I may have missed it but the Malazan books are pretty good if not mildly confusing. If you are going to sci-fi I'd like to suggest Altered Carbon as one of my all time favorite books and the Deathstalker series as a guilty pleasure.

Joshua (geoff876544) | 7 comments I've read the malazan books and those are pretty much my absolute favorite.

T What about The Black Company by Glenn Cook?

Joshua (geoff876544) | 7 comments Haven't read those. My, there seems to be a lot of them! Fantastic, how do they rate?

Theophrastus Bombastus | 6 comments Well, what type of book are you in the mood to read? I've got a list of some good ones you haven't rated though:

The Legend of Eli Monpress: I saw you liked the Gentleman Bastards series and the Riyria Revelations. This one is similar to those and one of my favorite book series.

Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell: If you liked the Malazan books, I figure you're probably a patient reader (I think). This book is a slow burner to start with but has a great payoff in the end.

Promise of Blood: I saw you liked Sanderson's books and the Lightbringer trilogy. This book gives off a similar vibe for me.

Other than those, I've got a list of some other good ones you haven't rated yet:

The Last Unicorn
The Cloud Roads
Among Thieves
Sixty-One Nails
American Gods
Anansi Boys
Stardust
Neverwhere
The Long Walk (horror)
Light on Shattered Water (Sci-fish)
The Demon of Cliffside
The Painted Man

Matthew Wolf | 1 comments Shameless plug!

Having seen your impressive repertoire of good books, I couldn't help but feel enticed to let you first know about your good tastes, and secondly, because much of what I saw was high epic fantasy.... feel free check out my book: The Knife's Edge by Matthew Wolf.

I'd be glad to send you an e-book (epub, .mobi, etc) too if interested and money is an issue, just let me know your e-mail.

Red Country by Joe Abercrombie

Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence

Low Town by Daniel Polansky (UK title is Straight Razor Cure)

Night of Viljamur by Mark C. Newton (this is not my favorite, but I know a number of people that love it)

Phoebe Prince (HDLynn) | 11 comments I didn't see if you read Traitor's Blade or not. That's one I'd recommend for you if you haven't read it. I also read The Fifth Vertex several years ago, which was a strong indie epic fantasy with some cool world building.

I'm going to add my 2016 best of fantasy reading list.

Tiger Hebert (tigerhebert) | 1 comments Joshua, my newest book The Chronicles of Aurion is currently free in ebook right now. It would be a good way to find out if my style suites you.

The next book in the series would be Dragon's Fire.

Enjoy,
-Tiger

Pat the Book Goblin You’ve read some great fantasy! Have you read The Child Thief by Brom, Jim Butcher Dresden Files, Once and Future King, Redwall by Brian Jacques, His Majesty’s Dragon series by Naomi Novik, Le Morte d’Arthur by Thomas Malory, Shannara series by Terry Brooks, or Seventh Tower by Garth Nix?

Some great sci-fi I loved: Foundation and Robot series by Isaac Asimov, anything by Arthur C Clarke, Hyperion by Dan Simmons, Enders Game and Enders Shadow series, Dune by Frank Herbert, and Dark Matter.

Hopefully there’s something you haven’t read I mentioned haha!
