Ok, I've never watched the show, and I don't mean to be patronizing or anything, but are the contestants adults? I'd be mildly impressed if a fifth-grader got them right but... adults? gosh.
They are adults, yep. The show counts on that ever popular schoolkid question: "Am I ever gonna need this in real life?"
A lot of times the contestants don't, and have had ample time to forget it because of that, while the 5th graders are still being tested on it and it's fresh in their young little minds not filled with thoughts like "Oh, crap, rent's due Tuesday!" cloggin' up the lanes. LOL
Though I don't recall ever learning about the images on money in school... just denominations, how to count it, how to make change, etc.
