It just occurred to me to offer some kind of promotion for the authors in our group who are offering their ebook at no charge or at a discount. I'd like to introduce the option of writing posts about promotions whenever available.

We all know getting your book in other hands is hard so why not make it a little easier with free promotion :) Our group is growing bigger and bigger everyday and My sister and I would gladly advertise ebook promotions on our blogs as well. This is something we would like to do on a regular basis, so if anyone is interested please email one of us about it, we'd be glad to help!!!

Martyn Halm (amsterdamassassinseries) | 4 comments Hi, I'm Martyn V. Halm and I write the Amsterdam Assassin Series - my colleague Henry Martin pointed out that this group might be interested in beta-reading ROGUE, the third book in the series.

The premise:
Assassin Katla kills the wrong target and draws attention from combined intelligence communities…

Freelance assassin and corporate troubleshooter Katla Sieltjes runs her business of disguising homicide below the radar of law enforcement, but when her latest target is a judas goat intended to draw her out into the open, the hunter becomes the hunted. Fooling local law enforcement can be difficult, but hiding from intelligence communities aiming to enlist her for their dirty work might prove impossible. With Homeland Security, DEA, and the German BKA bundling their forces with Dutch Intelligence in an effort to track down Loki Enterprises, not only Katla’s future is threatened, but also the lives of her lover and his friends.

Rogue is the third novel in the Amsterdam Assassin Series. With authentic details and fast-paced action, featuring an uncompromising heroine and a supporting cast of unusual characters, Rogue gives a rare glimpse in the local Dutch culture, information on the famous Dutch capital, International terrorism, computer hacking, forensic sciences, martial arts, foreign intelligence services, the art of social engineering, and the brutal effectiveness of disciplined violence.

I just finished the manuscript, so I'm looking for people interested to beta-read and provide me with feedback. As ROGUE should be readable as stand-alone novel, prior knowledge of the backstory or characters is not necessary.

When the feedback is in and I've polished the manuscript, I'll have ARCs (advanced reader copies) for people who want to read the book and write a review that can be posted at or around the publishing date of ROGUE.

ROGUE features a blind main character and disabled antagonists/minor characters, which is why Henry thought it would be suited for this group...

H.S. St.Ours (hs_stours) | 4 comments Sami (Water Worlds, #2) by H.S. St.Ours

Did you know that Sami is a Thanksgiving story? Well it is. And it and begins with a rare treat: a Thanksgiving dinner, with Simma and Miz Murphy, down deep in Far Northend, the toughest neighborhood in all of tunnel Tee Four.

Sami has little to give thanks about, except maybe for her dog, Scout, a tunnel stray who adopted Sami. Her mom and dad are long since dead, and her friends, Sef and Glyn, vanished without a trace, over a year ago, or were chased from the tunnel by the Judge. Now her dearest pal, Simma, was leaving, too, to live under the water in tunnel Tee Two, with her mom and her mom’s new boyfriend.

But through it all, “Sami” is an adventure of courage and hope, as she seeks answers and uncovers a mystery that spans worlds.

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, I have discounted the Kindle version of “Sami” to 99 cents through tomorrow only! (That’s $3 off regular price, for the math-challenged among you.) And if you buy the paperback (like, you know, as a present for someone special who likes a good sci-fi story), you get to keep the digital version for free!
http://amzn.to/GNIRge

Or maybe you prefer the dead tree version. If so, thanks to Kindle’s MatchBook program, if you buy the paperback version of any of my books, you get the digital version FREE! Is that a deal, or what?

Thanks for reading!

S.K. Newton (sknewton) | 1 comments Hi! What an awesome group you guys have created here! I'm the (African, but it's a SECRET shhh) author of new sci-fi novel, which I wrote and published in complete anonymity. I would love the help with promotion, 'cause it's crazy getting a book noticed in the great big Kindle Store. I have two female heroines of color, 11,000 years in the future and I hope you'll fall in love with them as I did.

If you enjoy millennia-long conspiracies, spooky quantum entanglement, and distant future evolution, readLinked for free on Amazon! As a new (and completely anonymous) author, I am entirely dependent on the brave adventurous souls who take a chance on the unknown. I know how annoying authors self-promoting is (we all sound like trolls, it’s okay), so I’ll shut up and let you take the plunge. The synopsis is below, enjoy!

http://www.amazon.com/Linked-S-K-Newt...

***

Everything is connected.

It is the year 11,012 AD. The world is powered by Luminum, an incredible and exotic particle, generated by the Sun. It is the source of the Link, a universal quantum communications system. The entire human race has one unified government, known as The Alliance. After cataclysmic attacks on all major settlements in the Solar System, most of the human population is dead or missing. As their world collapses, Helia, Adlan and Soren, are flung into a millennia-long conspiracy.

Helia learns a powerful and dangerous secret about Luminum, and the Link that has been encoded in her very genes. A secret that has her marked for death by the Alliance. Adlan finds himself fighting for his life on an icy outpost beneath Europa. As he tries to uncover the lies of the Alliance, and what really happened in the attacks, he begins to doubt his own intentions and sanity. Soren is trapped on the Lunar Settlement, and forced to trust a secretive, enigmatic man named Riss because he keeps saving her life. Ominous signs start to emerge that they face a much darker, and more terrible threat. Known only as the Architects, they seek to enslave or destroy any who remain. A war will soon begin, but only if Helia, Adlan and Soren, decide to fight it. Faced with the choice between living forever with the ones they love, and fighting powerful and unknown forces, the three of them, linked by a destiny greater than they ever imagined, will chart a course that determines the future of the human race.

Intrigued yet?

I only recently joined this group and am considering doing a promotion (50% discount) through Smashwords. My book was originally published in January 2013 as a Kindle edition and still is available at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B78VR56 at a price of $3.99. In January 2014, I published the Smashwords edition, which is available in multiple electronic formats at http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/.... Smashwords allows me to offer online coupons for discounts, etc. I haven't tried that yet, but if I am able to set that up, how would I promote in here? Would I just post a message about the promotion in this thread?

Laura Mitchell (laurarm) | 6 comments I invite members of this group (and/or others who may be interested!) to take advantage of a promotion I am offering for my science fiction novel, The Reality Matrix Effect. The book involves alternate reality, personal discovery and political intrigue, along with some romance. Here's a brief summary:

When newspaper copy editor Al Frederick is called back to work after a popular congressman is shot and killed in 1971, he is unprepared for the events that follow. A suddenly changed headline splits reality and sets Frederick's life—and the course of world history—on a new path.

Fifty years later, the world is at peace, running on clean electric power produced by generators using a nickel-titanium alloy called Nitinol. Al Frederick, recently deceased, has bequeathed to high-school teacher Rayna Kingman a box of old audio tapes and newspaper clippings that explain much of what happened in the intervening years. This includes Al's work with a controversial counter-culture physicist whose research indicates that Al may have changed reality.

Stunned by what she learns about her friend Al Frederick—and about herself—Rayna tries to make sense of it all while coping with disturbing changes that include a threat of war with mining colonies in the Asteroid Belt.

Full price for the book is $3.99, but during this promotion, you can download the Smashwords edition at 50% off in any of several electronic formats--including mobi, for Kindle; epub, for Nook, Kobo, etc.; pdf, and more. That's only $1.99. Go to https://www.smashwords.com/books/view... and use Promo Code NN82U when you check out.

Although there currently are no reviews at the Smashwords site, you can find several on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Reality-Matrix-....

This promotion will be in effect until Aug. 28. I hope you will download The Reality Matrix Effect, read it, and enjoy it!

Eric Cheung | 3 comments My book was rated quite positively on Kirkus! Check it out, if you're into action and humor, that is.

Kings of Fortune by Eric Cheung

Portland Book Review gave it 4 out of 5, "It would be amazing to see the manuscript turned into a film someday - all of those fight sequences would look awesome on a big screen."

Kirkus Review said, "Cheung’s prose is reminiscent of a comic book: short, punchy sentences propel exciting moments of action and complement his amusing, pun-filled dialogue."

Thank you!
