Yikes! I knew there was a reason why I hadn't gone in the water yet this year! This book sounds really good - a real life thriller. Thanks for the title!
Cinnamon and Gunpowder by Eli Brown. Rollicking fun tale of murderous pirates, fine dining, and the quest for the Brass Fox. (And yes, there are sharks!)

I never knew that came from a book! I guess I'm dating myself but I loved that show. It sounds so silly if you try to explain to anyone that Sally Fields could fly with her nun's headgear! (was it a "wimple"?)

Now I'm on Ocean at the End of the Lane (Neil Gaiman) and I'm hooked! Don't tell me what happens!
I'm reading the Ocean at the End of the Lane also. It was a little slow at first (only a couple of pages), but I am into it now. It is strange because it reads like a kid's story, and I keep forgetting it is the adult telling it. Cannot wait to see how it ends!

An occupational hazard of working in a library is having way too many books to read! We watch a lot of reviews, bestseller lists, etc. We also get a lot of suggestions from library patrons and members of our book groups. A few of us do a program in January and June called Breakfast With Books, and we put together lists of the best books of the year, as well as staff favorites. If you email me at maryanneqn@gmail.com, I'll send you our most recent lists!
