Steve (mixmix) I've noticed a trend in my reading patterns - I'll finally read something by an author I hadn't heard of or otherwise ignored and proceed to devour nearly all their works, aside from a book or two. At that point I leave that book unread for a considerable amount of time, not wanting to read everything in case I ever need that surprise read by an author with a guarantee.

In my case, I have the following books unread that I am saving for a rainy day:

Cormac McCarthy - Suttree
Haruki Murakami - The Wind up Bird Chronicle
John Wyndham - The Seeds of Time
Albert Camus - The Plague
Franz Kafka - The Trial

I actually like this idea. I try not to devour books by a certain writer, especially if the writer is already deceased. At one point or another, I find myself running out of books to read by that writer, an example would be Audrey Niffenegger and now I have to wait I don't know how long till her next book comes out, if she continues writing. I'm not a fan of re-reading books either.

Ashley (icecheeseplease) I wish I had the self control that you two do! Whenever I find an author that I like I tend to go through everything that they have written and then painstakingly wait for their next novel.
