YA / MG Read-A-Holics Not-So-Anonymous discussion

Since August is beginning to creep up on us, I will go ahead and pick nominations for August's group read. Here are the choices that will be on the poll:

-The Westing Game
-The Giver
-A Wrinkle in Time
-Turtle in Paradise
-Princess Academy
-The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle

I have read all of these but one, and the ones I have read are very good. Many of these are Newbery Honor Books, not Newbery Medal Books, but all are very good, in my opinion. (Although I have not read The Giver, I have read the next book in the series and it was amazing!) Also, I have picked historical, realistic, and fantasy books. That way, there's at least one book from each genre.

Cool! I really liked that book. I believe that book has another vote already. That makes two. ;-)

I read The Giver, and liked many aspects of it, but found the ending weak. It made me hesitate to read more.

But with your glowing recommendation, I might have to rethink it.

Oh, well I read the sequel to the Giver, not the actual thing. The other books on that list I have read, though.

Yay!! I just finished halfway to the Sky and I absolutely LOVED it! I'll start reading the other assigned reading books soon. I am currently in the middle of another book, so I have to finish that first.

Yay! I'm so glad that you liked it!! It's one of my favorite books. ;-) And that's perfectly fine, go ahead and finish up your other one. ;-)
