Cammy6 I was reading this book the other day and noticed something. He's often described as often not lucid. He will be in conversation with someone and go off on a tangent inside his own head and think about his past or something about the person he's speaking with. I always assume that it's exposition--giving us background info and insight into the characters in the story. Most authors use this technique. We as readers take it for granted that no time passes while the character does this. But in Lothaire's (and often Nix's case), time is passing and he is actually remembering all of these things. Meanwhile, the other speaker slowly realizes that Lothaire is not paying to attention to him at all, but is staring off into space and naturally attributes this to his elevator not going all the way to the top.

This just cracks me up.

Donna I'm almost done with this entire series and I love it. As with each book you hate some characters and love others, one thing they have in common is you eventually end up loving them all, yes even Lothaire. Each character has their defining moment when you get to THEIR story.

Lourdes I like that he does this, because it gives me a look into his past. Not only that but also gives you a look into how his mind is, all crazy and such. To me it's kind like a tiny hint of what Nix's head might be like.

Pam I wasn't sure what to expect from Lothaire from one minute to the next. I was so sorry for that fix that his one true mate was in. We have a character so nuts that when he is pissed he rips out his own heart and mails it to who pisses him off or hurts him. I couldn't wait for this book because quite frankly I could not see how Kresley Cole could pull it off. How were we going to like him at all. He has a mean hurtful way with words and a black nasty soul. abut as we travel this road with Lothaire we learn of the hell he has been through and has had to survive, his own family having him buried alive for centuries. Hearing his mother tortured and killed. Living like an animal to survive.... and much to my amazement I find myself rooting for him to find some peace and happiness. I really enjoyed this book. She did one spin off book after he took over his new kingdon. I haven't heard anymore about it. I wish someone would let us know. :)

Kira Lothaire is in the brink of madness, hence the staring at a blank space and all. I love him, I really do, but what greatly disappointed me the most was the fact that Black King didn't end up with the White Queen! Damn. And I wanted Kresley to explore more of his relationship with Nix, since she's the only one whom he treats as a friend and care for, until he found his mate.

I just Want Phenix's mate to be the Grave walker! He still have a connection with Lothaire. :)

Pam I have racked my brain to figure out who they could surprise us with as Nix mate. I was surprised to find out how close her and Lothaire were. I think in order for Nix to finally get her mind back in order she needs to meet this mate. Do you guys have any guesses who it might be? Maybe its Lothaire's brother King of the Forebears. " isn't he the grave walker?" Last I knew Lothaire kidnapped him and has him in his dungeon but his Queen doesn't know it yet. Sneaky guy lol

Nucking Futs the Fire Fairy Book-a-holic am i the only one who didn't want lothaire to end up with nix? Lol. Anyways, i kind of guessed already beforehand that they won't be paired up. One, it was too obvious. And two crazy people ending up together won't make them sane.

as for Nix's mate. i hope KC can give us some hints on who she's going to pair her with. Meanwhile, i'm counting the days until the release of her next book. I heard it's Melanthe and Thronos's story. I was kind of disappointed with Macrieve so I hope the next book would be awesome.

Pam I think she did a great job with the Lothaire. That was a hard book to pull off with his bad history.
