I absolutely love the game Scattergories! I can play that game all day everyday. I have seen other Scattergories challenges in other groups so I decided to create my own challenge All Challenges All the Time sytle!

Specifics
♥ Each round of Scattergories will last for 3 months
♥ We will be using the real dice for this...I will roll the dice in the presence of one of my family members so that they see what I rolled (so no one can say I cheated :D)
♥ For this first round I will start with categories that are easy and basic~ but as the rounds continue the categories will be getting harder. I also will use real categories from the Scattergories game cards.
♥ You don't have to do all categories
♥ One book per category

Duration of Round 1
July 23, 2013 ~ October 23, 2013

Letter of Round 1
D

Categories
1. Title
2. Author
3. Series Name
4. Cover Item
5. Genre
6. Male Character
7. Female Character
8. Cover Color ~ you can get creative using the Crayola Colors website
9. Hardcover Book
10. Soft Cover Book
11. Location/Setting
12. New to You Author

Notes:
♥ Include cover or link to book for every book
♥ Must include cover when posting for the cover item category
♥ Please include all names when posting books for name categories
♥ Post color name and cover for that category
♥ Post location or setting for that category

Scoring
♥Score 1 point for each time you use the given letter
ex~ if letter was C, the book Catching Fire would be worth 1 point; whereas Colleen Cook (made up name) would be worth 2

Okay, I already have a question. Going by Brianna's message #6, we have to cover all 12 categories to get one point, is that correct?

Or is it every time we read a book that fits a category, we get a point?

For example, if I read Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon by Diana Gabaldon, and it fits: Title, Author (D = Diana), and Soft Cover Book, would I get three points for just this book?

Or do I have to fit books to cover all 12 categories and then claim my first point?

And also, maybe it's only one book for one category? In other words, I could only use Dragonfly in Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon for only 1 of the twelve categories?

Am I making sense?

Gotcha. Thank you, Brianna.

@ Jingle:

It's one book per category and the book you have will count for one point.

Brianna basically explained everything the way I would in Post 13.

If you need anymore help, let me know

@ Brianna:
Thanks for explaining and everything you said is correct :D

I'm up to five points. Wooohoo! I updated my original post.

I'm really having fun with this challenge. I'm not very good at it, but I'll get better with practice.

Congrats Jingles! I know, it's tough but fun! I keep trying to get double points but can't seem to get it.
I think one of my books might be, but I'm not sure.

And I just can't seem to get Character name or Location! lol! It's been fun to try though!

I can't wait to see what the next letter is!!
