What do you think is the public's take on Eve and Roarke's relationship?

After reading all the 36+ books, I feel that most people who don't personally know them think Eve married Roarke for money, and him her for the convenience and advantages that come with being on the in with cops. AKA Roarke's get-out-of-jail-free card, as quoted from the book.

Also, what do you think of Eve being known as "Roarke's cop"? Derogatory? Good? Bad? Nice? Appropriate?

What's your take?

I think a lot of people outside would look at eve and think that she married him for the money....that is until they really got to know Eve and what she is all about. The same goes with Roarke. Knowing Roarkes background i would probably think Roarke married Eve for that advantage...but once you got to know the 2 of them you realize how much love they actually have for each other.

I like when people call Eve Roarke's cop for me i just think it is appropriate and Nice as well

I have not read this last book although I have it. I think Eve and Roarke totally adore each other and married because of that. As for 'Roarke's cop', that seems fine with her. Roarke did not need a cop;he is the one assisting her with his knowledge and resources. He would have done fine without having her on the force.

I think outside people don't really know what to make of them. Some might think Eve married Roarke for the money. Others might think she married him for the exposure being his wife brings her and her cases. (We all know she married him for the coffee. Or maybe for the sex. JK.) Some might think Roarke married Eve to have a cop on his side, so when things get "tough" he has an easy way out. Others might think he did it just because he was, IDK, bored...? Although if he was bored he could've married anyone, i.e. me hahaha

I think "Roarke's Cop" is more like a compliment. It's like calling Roarke, Eve's Gazillionaire--and we all know how much she'd love that LOL People respect Roarke, and know he's a no nonsense kind of guy, so they know to expect the same of Eve. And to be honest, they both belong to each other, otherwise Eve would scowl and be all like, "I'm my own cop."

Just my 2 cents :) (@2:30AM because I can't sleep hahaha)
