Ronyell (rabbitearsblog) | 345 comments Has anyone been reading Brian K. Vaughan most recent series Saga? I've been enjoying this series so far and I can't wait to see what will happen to Alana and Marko! Did anyone pick up Saga, Volume 2 yet?

Peter | 150 comments Yes, I've been reading it in single issues, and loving it. So, I've already read volume 2 in issues, and am eagerly awaiting the start of the 3rd arc which should be coming out any time now.
Just keeps getting better!

Paul | 286 comments I bought the first two trades and I loved them, although I did prefer the first one. I am anxiously awaiting for them to collect both trades into a single oversized hardcover (you just know they will)...
I might not buy the 3rd trade and just wait for them to collect trades 3 & 4 into hardcover as well (yes, I am THAT patient).
I do hope both the singles and trades keep selling well (even without my participation) as I am hoping this seriers lasts long enough to merit the hardcover format.

I would definitely like to see this series in hardcover also, although I've been buying the volumes for awhile now. This series definitely deserves it!

Kelly (xitomatl) I've been following this one monthly since it first started, and it's probably currently at the top of my list in terms of "comics I can't wait to get when they come out".

Seriously, my partner is sick of hearing about how long it's been over the summer with them not releasing any new issues.

One thing that really struck me:

I've been to Calgary Expo the past two years in a row, and if you guys don't know, Fiona Staples actually lives in Calgary, so she goes every year.

Last year (2012) I believe Calgary Expo was only about 2 months after the first issue had been released. I was able to walk right up to her table, have a nice little chat with her. I think it was me and like, one guy, who were there.

This year? I had to wait in line for damn near an hour, her table was absolutely packed. Many people who were just getting her to sign their collections so they could sell them on eBay (which I think kinda sucks, but whatever). She even had a helper this year!

It's amazing how much popularity can explode so quickly - and she definitely deserves it because she is an amazing artist - but it kind sucks too because now I have to wait in line for an hour.

Pleased to say though she still managed to have a little chat with everybody, and I was able to grab her new book from her, along with some beautiful cover prints (Saga issues #7 & 12) that will soon be framed and proudly displayed in my living room.

I was just kinda floored at the difference between 2012 and 2013. I even seemed to get in the line at a "lull" because when I walked by later they had even set up little barriers and it was stretching much farther down the aisle.

Melissa (mkc2192) I am so happy. I absolutely love this series! It's such a quick read, but I've been sucked into the world and have loved all the characters. It really is the funnest thing I've read in a long time.

I agree! I loved the hilarious dialogue between the characters and I can't wait to see more of these characters!

Volume 2 is definitely worth picking up! I just loved the story in that volume! I also can't wait for The Will and Alana and Marko to meet up also and I'm also excited for their confrontation against Prince Robot!

Nicole (popularmassacre) | 2 comments I just had this suggested to me at the comic shop yesterday. I suppose I'll have to check it out based off so many referrals. So many comics, wagh!

message 16: by Jaime (new)

Jaime | 20 comments It is very, very good indeed. Clever writing, expressive artwork and quite emotional (full of what I guess the kids these days call "feels").

message 17: by Mike (new)

Mike | 289 comments Been reading it in trades, so am up to issue 18 I think (vol 3). Agree with everyone else - it's a fantastic series. And it just keeps getting better as it goes.

message 18: by Trike (new)

Trike | 115 comments I think it's okay. The third volume really bogged down for me. When the characters are just sitting around talking and not doing much, it really loses its appeal for me.

I have nothing against remixes of previous work, because that's what most art is, but I feel like a lot of it is stuff I've seen before. But then I've been reading comics since 1972 and I've seen a ton of variation over the years.
