Of course, I am still going to read it...

The first time I read this book I was really into the Amazing Race the tv show but for some reason I didn't like this book. I think it was because the H/h were separate for most of the book. Maybe now that I don't watch the Amazing Race when I reread it I'll like it. In any case the sooner we are done with this book the sooner we can get to the next one which is my favorite out of the series.

I absolutely love Sebastian, it's that hesitant alpha-beta thing he has going on.

So agree. He's like a puppy! I want to hug him and let him lick my face and stare at me with his cute, soulful eyes. :)

hahahaha soo true...What did you guys think Kaderin ??
I haven't gotten to start the reread, but she jumped on my last nerve when I read this the first time. She grew on me. I hope I like her better soon on this read.

I agree, I kept thinking just tell him what's going on, what you're trying to do and he'll help you. It's not my favorite plot device: The Big Secret.

Sebastian Wroth. How do I even begin to describe how much I love him. As I've previously said, Nikolai got thoroughly trumped as my favorite wroth by Sebastian by this book. I mean, how can anyone not? My God! He's so self-less (my exact opposite? hehehe). He was adorable, caring, honorable, protective and uber sexy.
Kaderin, I thought I would hate but I quickly got used to her as the story went along. She's still far from my favorite valkyrie but i don't hate her.
About the amazing race story line, the globe trotting was an ok concept for me.
For shame though, this couple is very rarely mentioned or referenced as the rest of the series went. Were they?

Always enjoy reading this book. Sebastian's my favorite of the Wroth brothers too. All those reasons mentioned plus he's super smart.
Kaderin's not my favorite Valkyrie but I like her. Can't be easy from not feeling anything at all to a bombardment of emotions.

I had forgotten how much I loved Sebastian. He's one of my favorite Wrothe brothers.

Your daughter's funny. LOL
Yeah, he's my fav of the Wroth brothers.

For me it is a tie between Sebastian and Conrad. I have a thing for damaged heroes. ;) Sebastian is just so sweet. He is a strong determined man but still totally loving and caring. I love that about him.

I totally agree with you Savannah this book was my least favorite in the series. Even though I just finished the reread and liked it better the second time around its still my least favorite but the good news is the next book is my favorite I can't wait til we start it.

nope. I am right there with ya hun. I don't completely dislike it. I just didn't find it up to par with the other. It was almost as if KC didn't even write this one.

Oh yeah! Between "a Hunger like no other" & "Wicked Deeds on a Winters night" WOOOH, I could die happy!

I just finished my reread and I actually felt more kindly towards Kaderin this time around. I loved the book, but then I love all these. I liked the fact that Sebastian and Kaderin's relationship was different. Although it seemed as though Kad has all the power, she didn't. Sebastian won her over with the power of his devotion. He is actually a very strong, powerful man in the best ways. I love alpha heroes, but I also love a man who is intellectual and in touch with his emotions. Plus, nerds are my Kryptonite. Sebastian is everything in a great package. I feel that they are perfect for each other.
The Wroths made me into vampire hero lovers.

What did you like best about this book?
How is Sebastian unique from the first two IAD heroes?
Would you have wanted to lose your ability to feel if you had gone through what Kaderin experienced with seeing her sisters die?
Were you surprised at what happened towards the end of the book with Kaderin and the fire serpent?

I really liked the whole amazing race aspect of this book. Going to all those different places to complete dangerous tasks I felt really added to the action side of the story. It also put the hero and heroine in situations where they were in danger with I find really interesting.

Sebastian is more of a beta hero to me. Where as the other too where definitely alphas. Sebastian was strong and smart but he was more yielding to Kat than I think the other two would have been.

Um...No
Were you surprised at what happened towards the end of the book with Kaderin and the fire serpent?
Yes, the first time I read this I was shocked and I wasn't sure how the author was going to fix it. My heart really hurt for Sebastian and I was really glad he didn't have to go to long without her.
I loved that Sebastian was a beta hero. He shows that betas can be equally appealing, and it's more about the fit between the characters than each hero being super alpha just because.
I was surprised about that part with the fire serpent as well. It was especially poignant how the Valkyrie reacted.
As far as Kaderin losing her emotions, that part seemed appropriate considering the depth of her sorrow and negative emotions. I'm not sure which was better though.
My favorite about this book was Sebastian, hands down!

Book Description:
In this next installment in the Immortals After Dark Series, USA Today Bestselling author Kresley Cole delivers a scorching tale about a forbidding vampire who lives in the shadows and the beautiful assassin who hunts him there.
A vampire soldier weary of life...
Centuries ago, Sebastian Wroth was turned into a vampire—a nightmare in his mind—against his will. Burdened with hatred and alone for ages, he sees little reason to live. Until an exquisite, fey creature comes to kill him, inadvertently saving him instead.
A valkyrie assassin dispatched to destroy him...
When Kaderin the Cold Hearted lost her two beloved sisters to a vampire attack long ago, a benevolent force deadened her sorrow—accidentally extinguishing all of her emotions. Yet whenever she encounters Sebastian, her feelings—particularly lust—emerge multiplied. For the first time, she's unable to complete a kill.
Competitors in a legendary hunt...
The prize of the month-long contest is powerful enough to change history, and Kaderin will do anything to win it for her sisters. Wanting only to win her, forever, Sebastian competes as well, taking every opportunity—as they travel to ancient tombs and through catacombs, seeking relics around the world—to use her new feelings to seduce her. But when forced to choose between the vampire she's falling for and reuniting her family, how can Kaderin live without either?
