message 1: by Julie (new)

Julie I have just finished reading the free Kindle version of this book. Normally I have found free books have not been up to much, but this book was different. It was so thorough and concise. I was amazed at how in depth it was. Even for someone, like myself, who had only the vaguest knowledge of what these women went through on our behalf would be humbled and at the same time horrified. I hadn't realized, for instance, that on many occasions these women not only starved themselves, they even denied themselves water and even sleep, for days on end! And the so-called Cat and mouse game that was played on them, was truly horrific. There are times when I feel so disheartened by all paarties, at voting time, that I think, What's the point? Now I fully understand the point. It would be an insult to these brave, courageous women, and all they endured for our sakes not to vote.
