I can't remember the name of a book I saw on the internet. The plot was something about a boy or young man who got lost or abandoned and was met by some mutant things that turned out to be friendly. It had to do with a wasteland or something.
The book wasn't that old, maybe published in 2011 or later, can't be sure. I'm thinking it was either sci-fi or fantasy.
I'm sorry its sounds vague. The only thing I'm sure of is the cover art. It was a photo-manipulation (so not drawn). At least one version featured the said character facing away from the viewer, looking like he had just fallen down, and looking at a mutant creature. The creature had four long legs, a somewhat cat like face, and was grabbing one of the guy's legs. There was another mutant thing behind the first one (or a little bit to the side). I can't remember if it was looking at the guy or out into the distance.

I'd really appreciate help, it's driving me nuts.
