Leah Hi, Goodreads. <3 you guys.

I've been getting a lot of questions about Unteachable, so I figured I'd put together a little FAQ. If you have a question that's not answered here, feel free to ask below. Please hide your spoilers with the < spoiler > tag. < /spoiler >

---

STORY QUESTIONS

• Is this a series or standalone?
Standalone.

• Will there be an epilogue, sequel, or other stories about these characters?
At this point, I don't know if I'll be writing more about them. All I can say is: maybe.

• Does this take place in high school or college?
High school.

• What is the age difference between the heroine and hero?
Slight spoiler. (view spoiler)

• Is there an HEA?
MAJOR SPOILER! (view spoiler)

• What happens in the final scene?
MAJOR SPOILER! (view spoiler)

---

OTHER QUESTIONS

• Will Unteachable be available on (Nook, iTunes, or insert store here)?
Currently, it's available at:
Amazon
Barnes & Noble Nook
Smashwords
Kobo

I don't yet know if it'll be available on iTunes.

• When is your next book coming out and what is it about?
I'll be writing another NA romance standalone. No plot details yet. I'm hoping to have it ready sometime this fall/winter.

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ Leah, you have broken me. So much so that it was hard for me to articulate in my review what I felt about this story. This doesn't happen often with me (So I hate when it happens)
My updates while reading it had a lot of my friends laughin at me.

Thank you for such a deep, emotional, lyrical telling of this story. You rocked it woman!

I generally really dislike POV reversals-but seriously, Leah, get to typing-I would love to read Evan's POV. Maise was probably one of my all time favorite characters, but flipping this around to read Evan's thoughts would just make my year.

I keep going back and forth with this in my head. I generally don't care for POV reversals either, but Evan is really, really tempting...

The thing is, without knowing his POV, you can only judge him by his actions. And I kind of like the fact that some people hate him and some love him. Controversy is interesting. :D

I worry that writing his POV would come across as a "defense" of him, which I don't want to do.

message 12: by ~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ (last edited Aug 15, 2013 06:25AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ I think we get enough of his POV/actions in the book. It allowed the story to flow where u were able to draw ur own conclusions about Evan, whether you loved or hated him or both. Whether it was fact or ur own interpretation of the facts, ur given enough info to make ur decision about him & his place, without being influenced by too much tell & not enough show. & I love that. That's one of the many things I love about this novel. It was just enough tell but a whole lot of show.

Plus I'm just not really a fan of reading essentially the same book/story under a different POV. I'm always thinkin "Where is the progress or point in this?" So I tend to stay away from those type of books.

message 13: by Leah (new) - added it

Leah Well said, Princess Nhya. Agree 100%.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I totally get that and I have chopped down my fair share of POV reversals that told the exactly the same story with little to no change to the story. I agree that Evan is written perfectly, the readers are given just enough information to either love or hate him. There is a tremendous amount of mystery surrounding him and because of that it makes people want MORE! Which is always the desired outcome when writing! Whatever the outcome may be- I loved the story and I have a book hangover for sure!

Leah And I agree with that too, Stacey. Hence why I'm torn. :D

I haven't ruled it out yet. We'll see.

Or u could make a happy compromise and just give us like a Novella of sorts, with equal time POV's from both. Concerning (view spoiler) *giggles* (I'm serious though)

I like the way you think. ;)

Cinta THANKYOU, wasn't 100% sure it was E sitting next to Maise on the plane.

Aghhhhhh, i need closure........does Maise and E last throughout her collage experience? Is he happy? Is Wesley okay?

So much left open ended :(

❤️Melanie G.📖💛 Great book. I was so excited for the ending and I was even more pleased on how it ended. I think it would be great to write the story from Evan's POV with an epilogue that tells what happens in the future (like 5 - 10 years later kind of thing).

message 21: by SY (new) - rated it 5 stars

SY I think the book ended perfectly. Sequels featuring the same couples take away from the HEA in first books. How horrible would it be to watch the sequel to the Graduate after they get off the bus? Where's the mystery, imagination?
That being said, Unteachable was so fantastic I'd read the sequel in a heartbeat :P

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I was having a conversation with my husband and I told him that I read a really great book recently, and in an effort to appear interested (lol) he asked me what the book was about and I told him about Unteachable. His first response was "How can a 30 something person fall in love with an 18 year old and it be normal?" And that's exactly why I would love to read Evan's POV.

That is a wonderful question and deserves an answer by making Evan's POV, please.

Awesome analogy! Another reviewer brought that same scene up.

Stacey wrote: ""How can a 30 something person fall in love with an 18 year old and it be normal?" And that's exactly why I would love to read Evan's POV."

Obviously, my hope is that the book itself answers that question. :D

I'm apprehensive about writing Evan's POV, because I don't want it to come across as defending or redeeming him, his past, his choices, etc. His actions in this book have to stand on their own.

I don't know...I keep bouncing it around in my head. I honestly don't know what I'll do yet. Think I need some emotional distance from it all first.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

It does for me- yes. I think Evan just simply loves her and her age doesn't factor in it or maybe he loves her more for it. And that's how I think his POV would be- just him falling in love with her. I don't necessarily want to know what happens after-the ending was just so good.

message 26: by ~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ (last edited Sep 05, 2013 11:47AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ Yup, I'm of the mind also that the book, Evan's actions, wants, desires, if u will, stand on their own in this book. There really is no need IMO, to see his POV while they are falling in love & during those moments when they were fighting for their love but also clarity & truth within themselves concerning their choices & the ripple effect that followed. U would be reading the same story. Just under a slightly different scope. That's just not interesting to me when you know what's happened & what will happen.

I wouldn't mind reading a dual POV with them though. 5-10 years down the road. Just to see what their lives look like years after they took the "Leap" That would be more interesting I think, to read about. But I'm happy leaving it as is & just wondering about what might have happened years later.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

See that's where I disagree. If they were both 18, it would pretty much be the exact same story- nothing really worthy of a POV reversal. BUT, IMO, because there is such a difference in age, life experience etc. I have to imagine that a 33 year old Evan would tell a totally different story than a 18 year old Maise, no? Oh well, I digress.

~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ Yeah, I totally get that if ur focusing just on the age factor,& caught up on the age gap. but both Evan & Maise were well fleshed out, even though the majority of the story is told through her POV, u still get in great detail Evan's responses, he's actions, he's secrets, & how he shows his feelings for her. You see his conflict between doing what was right by society standards & what a part of him feels is right for her, & his own want desire/need to have her in his life by any means. & Maise, yes she is young & has a lot of living to do but given her upbringing & just who she is, her mind & her self awareness was a lot more mature than most 18 year olds. And I think that's why I buy her take on what we are shown through the telling of her story by her. I believe that's why this story worked for me & why I was ultimately satisfied with what we were given.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I get it. And by the age thing, I just mean if I told a story about something major that happened to me when I was 18, now when I am 33, my life experience has me explain it totally different than I did when it was happening to me at 18. That's why I want to see it through Evan's eyes.

That's an excellent point, Stacey. Food for thought.

I'm really enjoying the discussion here. :D

I get u... And in that respect ur absolutely right. When I look back on what I may have been feeling or thinking about concerning certain things at age 18 & compare that now to my feelings & thoughts at age 36... oh yeah it's like 2 totally different people :)
