Carlena | 1753 comments Alrighty, here is the guidelines and such for BOTM

1. On the first of every month we will start the next book in the series.

2. The first week or so of the month will be the time for everyone to read/reread the book.

3. For the rest of the month we will be in general discussion of the book. I will from time to time pop in and ask questions to incite conversation. I invite others to ask questions too.

4. Things to discuss will be theme, plot, characters, events, and any other thing you wish to talk about regarding the book.

5. We will be going in the order that is listed on Sherrilyn's website. I will post a list soon of the BOTM's we will have till the end of the year

6. Please keep in mind there are others who haven't read all the books, so when referencing another book make sure you either list it as a spoiler or do not give enough information away to ruin the book.

Also, do feel free to ask me any questions. I try to answer all pm's within an hour or two.

Thanks for your patience as this is the first time for me doing a major thing as a new moderator. I hope that together we can make it awesome!

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Thanks for hopping on this Carlena. Btw, could you add in a bit more about how the book the month will go. In case people have some questions. Particularly given as there are so many books. I know Shari was curious about this for sure.

Also add in a start and finish date too. So people know how long the discussion is for and have a rough estimate on when to wrap up the reading and discuss.

Steffani (caffeinewiccan) Do we have to reread the book if we've read it before?

No ma'am. :) I am typing up the guidelines and info now. :)

message 6: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Not mandatory to reread the book Steffani. This is just an opportunity to join in reading it with everyone again or for the first time if you haven't already.

Too right you are!

message 13: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new) - rated it 5 stars

Carlena | 1753 comments Alrighty. I'm gonna get us started with a few questions.

1. Who is your favorite character?

2. What do you think is the funniest thing in the book?

3. Should Julius wear shorty shorts all the time? ;)

message 14: by Michelle (new) - added it

Michelle Gilmore I'm so excited about this that I was seriously considering calling in sick to work today, LOL! But alas, if I don't work, I can't afford to support my book habit.

message 15: by Ally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ally | 325 comments Been a while since I read this although I will re-read to get into the discussions properly but off the top of my head the answers to the first two questions are the same for me -Selena, love her ;)

And I would vote for Julian wearing a towel all the time ;) I love that scene lol

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I am going have to go with Eros. he is funny
I liked at the end when he wanted to shoot the nurse with one of his arrows

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments darn it has been too long, I have to re-read it too.

Vaughn | 2 comments Will certainly be dropping in for this one....

Cindyg (brotherlover) | 248 comments I'll be stopping in...love this series.

Tiffany Rice | 2 comments What is the first book that we are reading

message 21: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new) - rated it 5 stars

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Fantasy Lover

Tiffany Rice | 2 comments So we're going to be reading Fantasy Lover? Is this the first book in the series?

message 23: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yes it is Tiffany. Kind of the unofficial first one as Night Pleasures does actually enter more into the Dark-Hunter world. But Julian is friends with the hero of Night Pleasures. Shared history and they find each other again in Night Pleasures.

Rae (raereads_romance) | 7 comments I'm so excited to start re-reading the series!

message 25: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments 1. Total tie between Julian and Eros

2. Off the top of my head is when Grace told Julian she would feed him Alpo if he didn't change his attitude or something like that. I was cracking up over that.

3. Naw, then Grace would never be able to beat the women off with a stick. I mean it was enough of a pain with him wearing regular clothes.

Latoya | 13 comments I like this. I read a few SK books before I got the entire series. I have intention of reading all, but cannot decide if to read randomly or in order (there are just so many. So this will definitely give me some motivation.

I don't think I have a favorite character in this book. I loved Julian, he seemed like the strong hero type but with a wealth of compassion. But Eros stood out as well.

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Ok peoples, I am in, I will pick up FL from the library on monday and then re-read it. Ready to participate and look forward to all your opinions, too.

hugsandcookies | 5 comments Thankyou Carlena, looking forward to this.

message 29: by Ora (new) - rated it 4 stars

Ora (oeamis) I just finished Fantasy Lover. I absolutely love Julian. I already planned on reading this book before BOTM started because of Styxx coming out. After seeing the list of books that Carl posted on Facebook, I decided there were a few more I had to read because I didn't want some of my favorite characters to be left out. It's hard to decide on favorite character. When I read the book the first time, I would have said Julian. I wanted him to heal so bad and find his HEA. Rereading it I would say Kyrian, even though Julian isn't sure he really saw him, because I LOVE Kyrian. He is one of my favorite heros in the DH series.
The scene where Grace threatens to feed Julian Alpo is funny. I think one of the sweetest/heartwarming scenes is when Julian is playing with and telling the neighbor's kids stories. I almost forgot the first time he sees his twins. I loved that scene.
I was curious, Grace asked Aphrodite to lift the curse for the women wanting him. Aphrodite makes a comment about if it would really help with the way Julian looks. She never ask about the men's animosity towards him. Did Aphrodite ever take care of that?

message 30: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Nope, I don't believe Aphrodite took care of that. Probably cause she likely felt it went hand in hand with all women wanting him. Like all men wanting her and the opposite sex would always be giving the stink eye regardless.

message 31: by Ally (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ally | 325 comments I've just finished it too. Because he is only mentioned a few times in later books you forget just how powerful he is. I had totally forgotten that he was dipped in the river Styxx!
Loved re reading it again, it was the first one I ever read and it is brilliant :)
Sad thing is though I hated the scene with bill talking to Julian about Selena and grace. I've always liked Bill in later books but I hate reading that scene. What a pig!! I know it's part of the curse on Julian but I still don't like him in that moment. I hope they become friends.
I do love the scenes with Eros and Psyche and remembering hoping we would see them more when I read it the first time.
Also loved Kyrian's cameo ;) I too adore him, and it reminds me of when they meet.

Fav character is still Selena but I think funniest moments are Julian learning to drive (I'm imagining how the clutch gets broken) and when the three girls are ogling Julian so they give them something to ogle, loved that bit!

Ray (warrior of randomness) XP | 1837 comments I loved the twins birth at the end of the book

message 33: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new) - rated it 5 stars

Carlena | 1753 comments Question posed to you all: Do you think Julian should have forgave his mother so quickly after her help at the end of the book even though she has been nothing to him for thousands of years?

message 34: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new) - rated it 5 stars

Carlena | 1753 comments hugsandcookies wrote: "Thankyou Carlena, looking forward to this."

^_^ you're welcome! and thank you for participating!

message 35: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Answer to question: Possibly shouldn't have forgiven her so quickly. But given that she didn't want to give him up in the first place and in her own way get back into his life. I think Julian realized he had to forgive her. Not only that but he spent so much time wasting his life in that book. To be free likely gave him a new prospective on life and even on his mom.

Cindi (ourtrumpcard) | 534 comments I thought I remembered FL as well but guess I'd best get re-reading! Hello, library tomorrow ;)

Zeus has done a lot of asshole things. But i think that killing a God would have severe repercussions for humans

message 47: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments No problemo Carlena. But yea Zeus was involved somewhat in the book. But to keep things on topic. How did everyone feel about Athena showing up towards the end and letting Julian break bad all over his brother?

Excellent point. As the Gods do hold up the universe in one way or another. Can't have things crashing down on us if one kicks off.
