I nominate for September Roadside Picnic by Arkady & Boris Strugatsky. I've read it before but would like to re-read it.
Did we read "Pnin" by Nabokov? I would propose this one.
i don't know any contemporary Russian authors but i'll propose Dr Zhivago by Boris Pasternak
I'll second Pnin, if it hasn't already been read by the group.
I nominate "The Heart of a Dog" by Mikhail Bulgakov. I just ordered the newly released Melville House edition (Michael Glenny trans) and I'm looking forward to reading it.

I've read Heart of a Dog about fifty times, but I'd love to re-read Invitation to a Beheading.By the way, if we do read Heart of a Dog, there are quite a few translations out there. Might want to choose one translation.
But I've never read Roadside Picnic. Haven't read anything by the Strugatsky brothers. I'd go for that, too.Roadside Picnic
