Sam Larks | 2 comments Please help! I read this novel about a year ago and I can't remember the name or author, so here's what I can remember. A romance novelist (who cannot bake to save her life and tends to make flour explode) gets a visit from a roguish Scottish man who suspects their partners of having an affair. The ghost writer novelist has been told (by her cheating partner) that the Scottish fella is violent. The Scottish fella has been told (by his cheating partner) that the novelist is extremely lazy and does nothing all day, neither is true! The novelist and her child (from a previous marriage I think??) move out from the home she shared with the cheater and moves into a lovely charming cottage over the road from her now ex who has already moved his new girlfriend in with him!
So Scottish bloke and novelist team up to pretend to be a couple to make their ex's jealous, they go on dates, he buys her flowers they get to know each other without the lies their ex's told about them both. Then obviously at the end they realise that their ex partners are morons and decide to stay together eventually after a little will they go back to the others
Hope that helps, Sorry if I went on a bit.
Thanks for reading x

Samantha--the more details the better, so longer posts are preferred to short posts.

Was this filed as romance or chick-lit? Do you remember if it was mainstream or a little more "out there" where you'd have to go to a bookstore in order to find it? Can you remember anything about the cover? What about where in the alphabet the author's name might have fallen--first half, second half, first quarter, last quarter etc.? Where was this set--England, Scotland, Ireland, other European country, U.S., Canada, South America, Australia, etc.?

And, of course, if you remember an more details, add them to another post.
