The character Rory was a big bookworm and had carried a book in every episode.

Also, can I just say that I love the look of the website this list is on - I feel that I could well lose a good couple of hours going through its pages!

I know what you mean, a friend of mine showed me the site a couple of months ago and I have hooked on it ever since.

Now, almost a year and a half later, I have read 121 so I made a little progress.
What a clever reading list idea Alannah!
I've read 98 of them. Some strange books on this list that I read years ago out of personal interest and have never heard referred to in any context since by anyone. Gender Trouble by Judith Butler, for instance. An intriguing book but with lots of weird ideas in it, one that I never expected to encounter again. I wonder who picked the books to appear on the show? Must have been an avid reader because there's some pleasing eccentricity in a few of the picks. Clearly didn't just come from a typical best-of list.
