I haven't actually read any of his fiction, although I have one or two titles on my list.
My primary interest is in the coloured fairy books
of which there are 12 volumes and form one of the most comprehensive collection of fairy tales that I know about. These comprise

The Blue Fairy Book (1889)
The Red Fairy Book (1890)
The Green Fairy Book (1892)
The Yellow Fairy Book (1894)
The Pink Fairy Book (1897)
The Grey Fairy Book (1900)
The Violet Fairy Book (1901)
The Crimson Fairy Book (1903)
The Brown Fairy Book (1904)
The Orange Fairy Book (1906)
The Olive Fairy Book (1907)
The Lilac Fairy Book (1910)

There is also the Rose Fairy Book which is a compilation of the best from the other twelve.
He co-wrote one book with H Rider Haggard of King Solomon's Mines and She fame "The World's Desire"
and also some translations of Icelandic sagas
and treatises on Mythology etc etc.
