She came from the west, emerging from the long shadows...the red sun that sat her shoulder painting her auburn hair with a nimbus of fire...
She was lean and muscled, her skin pale and fair; hair, worn loose, flew wildly and untamed about her head, dancing on winds that smelled of rain...

She is Kayla of Zyre, a priestess of the long-forgotten goddess Naith. With her country under brutal attack, and suffering the devastating effects of a mysterious plague, Kayla must once again invoke the goddess and take up arms to protect the very people that have turned from her.

For Kayla is the Bladewitch, the last of her kind, and she cannot fail...
No matter the cost.

The Bladewitch is the new Sword & Sorcery novel written by Jason E. Thummel. It is available on kindle and paperback.

Periklis, thanks for the heads up. Just got my kindle edition. Jason has a nice portfolio of works ( some review starved): I recommend both his In Savage Lands and The Harsh Suns.

You're welcome Seth. I really enjoyed The Harsh Suns and looking forward to reading In Savage Lands. As I've purchased both titles on paperback, I should be placing an order for "Bladewitch" soon...

Jason | 115 comments Thank you one and all, gentlemen, with additional thanks to you, Periklis, for posting this, and to you Seth, for snagging a copy:) I hope it doesn't disappoint, but would be glad to hear your thoughts either way.

Good eye, Jason, it is indeed a Normand cover, and I feel privileged to have it be the face of my tale. His work definitely conveys the essence and look of what I'm going for, and I appreciate the introduction you provided me those many, many moons ago.
