20.1. Most Improved Player - Andrea's Task: A Cozy Read

I managed to read many books this summer and discovered the "Cozy Mystery" genre. Hard to believe that I didn't hear of this earlier since I love Historical Fiction, especially murder mysteries. The cozy mystery that I read this summer and really liked was the Nell Sweeney Historical Mysteries. So I hope you all discover a cozy mystery that you like with this task.

You should read one book from one of the following options:

Option 1
Read a book with the genre "Cozy Mystery" on the main page.

Option 2
Read a book whose author's initials can be found in the word "COZY".

Letters can be used in any order but each letter may only be used only once. You can disregard middle initials. If you are using a book with multiple authors, the initials for all of the authors must be found in the word.

Required: Please state the option that your book fits when posting.

Happy Reading!

This thread is now open!

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 855 comments Oh, I loved that series. :) Will, such a tortured soul. I'm happy to see that it's in ebook, since the paperbacks were going for such outrageous prices.

I recently went on a buying binge of cozies. I have NO idea what I will end up reading, since I have so many choices. :D

Bea I assume "Mystery > Cozy Mystery" counts, right?

Oh yes. As long as there's "Cozy Mystery" on there it's fine.

Maids of Misfortune
Cozy Mystery is at the bottom of the genre list, and I'm afraid it will fall off!

Andrea (deja05) | 100 comments Shawn wrote: "Does The Sunday Philosophy Club (Sunday Philosophy Club, #1) by Alexander McCall Smith work?"

Unfortunately it doesn't work for this task since it doesn't have Cozy Mystery as a genre on its main page.

message 18: by Shawn (new)

Shawn | 297 comments Thanks, it must have fallen off the main page since I posted the request. I'll find something else.

Cozy mystery is on the main page though. it's Mystery > Cozy Mystery

Rosemary | 613 comments Yes this is really weird. What is the requirement here exactly? How does that one not fit?

Thanks Amanda, I'm not sure how I missed that. Weird...

Yes, that book will work then.

Shawn | 297 comments Amanda,

Thanks for double checking!

Andrea,

I checked the page when you said it did not fit the task; for whatever reason it was not listed on the main page. Thanks for looking into it though.

Susan A | 1664 comments Redemption by Olivia Duncan Craig

For option 2, I can ignore middle intital just if it's an inital or the inital for whole middle names too?

Oh good question!

Yes, you can ignore the middle name wether its written fully out or shortened to an initial. So this book works.

Yes, that's fine. Her first name is Cynthia so we can assume J. Is the middle initial.

I checked the main page for Lean Mean Thirteen and that genre is no longer there so I can't approve it. Sorry!

The genres do tend to fall off/get back on often so if you see it there again you can post in the Genre Verification Help thread. The mods will probably respond quicker than me!
