What are your favorite Frederik Pohl Books?

Gateway

The Merchants' War

Jem

But there are so many. How do you chose?
If I had to pick ... well, the entire Heechee Saga is great.

Ive only read Gateway and The Space Merchants... much preferred The Space Merchants.

Have Man Plus still to read and would like to read Jem

Gateway. I've read many of his books, including Jem, Narabedla, Coming of the Quantum Cats, The Cool War, and Map Plus. Overall, I think I liked the Gateway books most, but I think that Man Plus was, in many ways, a better book.

The first book I read from his work was Jem, and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. I am reading the rest of his work now and the best are Space Merchants , Narabedla (really funny), Man Plus and Gateway. Overall he was a very good writer.

My fave is still "Beyond the Blue Event Horizon" I read when I was a gallery guard at the Walker Art Center, fall of 1981. I had just graduated from college, Spring 1981 and was dirt poor. I'm dirt poor now but with benefits. Go figure. Everyone is dirt poor in "Beyond. . ." Its a great read for those who don't like "Gateway" so much. Pohl is in high creative crazy mode in "Beyond. . ." I'm reading "Beyond. . ." now.

I read the entire heechee series in high school. Love the whole series

Starchild.

1 to 3 in descending order

I love "Gateway" but embarrassingly have not read anything else by him (apart from short stories, of which 'The Tunnel Under The World' is one of the greats. One day I will read the copy of "Beyond the Blue Event Horizon" I have in staring at me from my book shelves.
