Matthew Murdock wasn't a regular guy. He never had been. Matt was an expert martial artist, he had an IQ that was off the charts, he could walk tightropes thin as a thread and listen to one's heartbeat from across a subway station. And he was blind.
He couldn't see color or photographs and it hurt him not to be able to see what his kids looked like... He couldn't see his boyfriend Michael either. Matt had seen him once before, but that was a special incident that requires more explaination than I care to give.
The suit he was wearing was more formal than usual. The college had hosted an event and he had participated... And now he was headed home, back to the apartment and Mike and the kids.
He hardly saw Renne anymore, although she often stopped by when he was gone to see the boys. Now that she had given up trying to raise them single.
He stepped off the bus and onto the sidewalk gracefully, using his cane to tap along the sidewalk until he reached his destination.

Another problem with being blind was the key issue. He didn't have many keys, but enough to confuse him something awful. Usually he felt the ridges and placed them by memory, but today he was just too tired. He played with several different keys severel different times before one finally fit and opened up for him.
Matt came in and dropped his heavy bag onto the couch with a loud squeak of springs. They needed a new couch... It was on the list of things to do when they had money. "Hey?"

" Daddy." Justin said happily as he rushed over from his toys to give his father a hug and cuddle into him deeply. Michael smiled and called back. " Hey Hun, sorry dinner isn't ready, but the boys wanted mac and cheese tonight so i told them they could."
((Sounds good!))
Matt shrugged with a smile and took his jacket off around Justin. "That's fine. I had a late lunch." He called, then crouched down to hug his kid back. "Hey bug," he said, letting out a breath as he picked him up. "How's it going?"
Ty swung his little legs off the edge of the counter happily and watched as the mac and chesse bubbled in the pot like something living. He was identical to his brother with the exception that he wore thick glasses, which was the number one way to tell the two apart. "Who's dat?" Plus he had a little bit of speech problem.

" I'm not a bug daddy." Justin fought back, but of course adorably like he usual did with his freckled face and cute dimples.
"But you're small like a bug..." Matt tilted his head to the side in consideration. He had never seen Justin's freckles. He had only seen him as a baby, and babies don't have freckles. "And you have those little antennae things on your head... I'm a lawyer J, I can keep this up." He smirked and gave the little boy a loving kiss on the cheek. "I'm pretty sure you have six legs too..."
"At da door." Ty grabbed his cup of juice and drank some with a loud sucking noise.

" Oh it's just daddy, he went to a thing for college but now he's home... so how was your day hun...you any closer to passing the bar?" Mike asked curiously picking up Ty in his arms and carrying him over to Matt.
"Oh fine then. I see." Matt hugged him back warmly. "You win you little... Miscreant." His face turned up as Michael came in and he smiled a little. That quiet, charmingly shadowed smile he had. "My day was good... Everyone there loves me... I think I'm a novelty." A blind lawyer in his very early twenties. No kidding he was a novelty.
Ty frowned, still clutching his juice. "What's da bar?"

Justin held on to his dad not wanting to let go either.
Matt lifted Justin off of him, but only for a moment. Then he picked him up again and hefted the little boy easily onto his back for a ride so he had his arms free. He walked up next to Michael and gave him a kiss on the cheek before reaching over to grab a glass from the counter. "How was your day?" He asked, filling it with milk from the fridge; keeping his son on his back the entire time.
Ty grinned toothily at Matt as he passed and made a swipe at Justin when he was close enough; managing a sloppy seven year old high five.

Ty batted his father's hand away and cuddled into his shoulder instead.
Matt blinked and waited to reponse as he finished his milk. "Really?" He said, setting his glass down and running a hand through his hair. "That's great Mike... Good job." He kissed him again.

Matt swelled a little and he hugged Michael close and tight for a minute. "I knew you could do it." He murmured into his black hair. "I knew it." Then he let go and walked over back to the table, setting Justin down carefully.
Ty was frowning in thought. "Hey," he tugged on Michael's sleeve. "Kiss me like daddy." He puckered his lips as an experiment. Why did Michael kiss his father differently than him?

Ty instantly began rubbing his mouth clean of germs. "Ew. No more." He said with a gross face and then retreated to his own little chair in the corner.
Matt snorted laugh and took his glasses off. He knew his eyes kind of frightened the twins at first, but he was trying to acclimatize them to the sight. It hurt him a little to know he scared them, or weirded them out. "Those kinds of kisses don't work very well on kids." He informed them factually.

"Yeah, you're their mom... With the lack of breasts and bonus of a di..." He stopped himself and his mouth twisted into a deep smirk.
Ty's eyes grew wide and he clinged onto Michael. "He said da B werd." He whispered.

Matt put a hand over his heart and shook his head. "They will never be thought of nor meantioned again."
Ty nodded skeptically. "Okay..."
Ty nodded skeptically. "Okay..."
Matt rubbed his eyes and kissed him back, sitting back in his chair tiredly. "No... I got over that a while ago..." He paused. "About eight years ago to be specific." The time he met Michael.

Matt nodded and wrapped his arms around Michael, pulling him even closer. "Very much so." He said through a yawn and gave him another kiss. It felt good to come back to his home and be loved like this. God knew he had fought for it.
Matt smirked and a small bubble of a laugh escaped him as he hugged Michael, playing with what was exposed of his hair. "Jesus Michael... I don't know how I survive all alone in college without you..."
"Mm," Matt pretended to consider it. "I don't know Mike... There's this guy at school... Dan is his name... He already asked me out."
Matt grinned and shrugged, waving vaguely at his eyes. "Can't really tell." He said, then kissed the top of his head. "But I'm kidding. I wouldn't even have brought it up if we hadn't been on topic. I said no thanks; I have my own sexy boyfriend at home waiting for me."

"Of course not..." Matt made a confused face. "Why would I? You're the love of my life... Of course I'll bring you. I want everyone to meet you."

Matt scoffed and shook his head. "Why do you think I dumped her?" He raised an eyebrow. "But that doesn't matter... You won't be around her very much. Unless you're uncomfortable with it..."
Matt sighed a little, but wasn't going to force him. "I could get one of my friend's kids to babysit? I'm sure someone would... You know how money hungry teenagers are."

Ty latched onto him like a love leech and dug his face into his side.
Matt nodded and ran his fingers down Ty's back. "Yeah... I'm sure they'll be fine... It'll only be for one night."

Ty seemed to have a difficulty wrapping his mind around this. "Someone... Where's daddy going?" He gripped Michael's sweat with a panicky look on his face.
