Hi, Mainstay, we normally do full length novels for the Group Read...this appears to be a book of short stories. I'll have to double check to see if this works as a nomination. Thanks! :)

Can this be read as a standalone? I've only read the first two books in this series, but I remember that the second book directly followed the storyline in the first one. But maybe the later books are different.
Also, Camy, that book looks really interesting! Another one for my wishlist, I think...

That's why I wanted to read it for our group book read. :) I haven't read it yet but want to!

I read another Austen-themed contemporary novel recently, The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen, which was a lot of fun! And the "missing" book was surprisingly authentic :)

OH MY GOSH I totally have to read that!!!!

Yes - it can be read as a standalone.

Camy I just added Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart to my TBR. It looks so good!!! Thanks Camy Tang for the nomination and suggestion. I am going to read this either way. So excited!

Thanks for clarifying Loraine! :)

Beth - after doing some more research, I'm not so sure it really is a standalone because a few things in the book take a bit of background knowledge from the previous Yada Yada series. So instead I would like to nominate Chris Fabry's

That's awesome! If you enjoy Austen's Persuasion, you'll really like Jane Austen Ruined My Life. I absolutely love Persuasion and Jane Austen Ruined My Life was fantastic.

Christy, just to clarify - this one is fiction, correct?

I have heard so many amazing things about this one, I can't wait to read it! :)

Loraine, so sorry I just now saw this! I missed some of my notifications! I'll fix the nomination now :)

Not a problem. I can renominate it for another time.

November's Main Group Read will be...This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti!
Thanks, Kalena, for nominating this one, and to everyone else who nominates each month :)
Stay tuned for November's Group Read #2!

A Marriage Carol by Chris Fabry!
Thanks to Loraine for nominating this one! :)

Yeah! This is the first book on top of my TR Christmas stack:)

Ah, gotcha. I'm sure it didn't help that we just last month added a second group read, so that there would be more options for our members. To clarify, the two I announce like this are the Main Group Read & the Main Group Read #2, whereas Cheryl's are always referred to as "Additional." I probably should have mentioned that when i announced the second group read :) Sorry for my confusion!
