MODERN GOOD READS QUIZ

Do you know your books? Are you sure?

Have fun with this quiz designed to test both your knowledge and your cunning brain!

Remember it’s only a game. The game lasts as long as it takes. Best of all, it’s legal to steal another entrant’s answers. But beware: their answer might not be the correct one.

The winner gets to contribute a question (with answer for the quiz master's sake) to the next quiz – as hard or easy as you like.

RULES

A) The quiz master's decision is final. Even if there proves to be more than one book that provides an answer to a question, the books and answers in the quiz master’s list will be the winning answers.

There may also be more than one valid answer to a question within a book. The quiz master will use discretion in this case, but if we keep pressing for another answer then keep looking.

The quiz master reserves the right to amend the rules at any time.

B) Entries will be considered in the chronological order they are posted.

C) No entries can be removed once they've been considered by the quiz master.

D) The quiz master will reply to an entry with the number of correct answers in the posted entry. (This reply will capture the entry in its entirety.)
So get 3 out of 10 posted answers right, you will get a reply of 3/10.

In other words, previously posted entries will help eliminate incorrect answers and help confirm correct ones, but the quiz master won’t usually specify further.

So a posted entry of one answer will result in a definite answer of 1/1 (i.e. correct) or 0/1 (i.e. incorrect.)

Speed of a reply depends on quiz master availability.

E) Each person is allowed to ask for one hint to a particular question. Everyone gets to see the answer. Note: You can collaborate to get more hints and you can ask for a hint to another question on another day.

Speed of a reply depends on moderator availability.

F) The winner will be the first person who posts Answer, Book, and Author to all questions in one single posting. The question number must be posted with the corresponding answer.

Sample Question: 1) Name the second of five daughters.

Sample Answer: 1) Elizabeth Bennet, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen

G) The winner contributing the winner question for the quiz may play. They can't answer the winner question or provide it to anyone. This means the winner of the previous quiz only needs to answer 9/9 to win (an inbuilt advantage). Everyone else must submit 10/10 answers to win.

If the quiz proves popular, we run another one.
