Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments Was a little iffy about the plot when I read the back but this was a great story. The ending was a little weird but still very good.

Brittany (tinsel hoarding bookdragon) (gamerkiti) I used this as a book with a one word title and absolutely fell in love with it...after I got done hating it of course lol. Have you seen the movie?

Jennifer Van Beveren | 93 comments LOL I know what you mean!! No not yet but plan on it in the next few days. Have you seen it?
I'm looking forward to reading his other books now.

Brittany (tinsel hoarding bookdragon) (gamerkiti) I'm looking forward to picking up some of his other books as well, I didn't expect to like his writing as much as I did (honestly I didn't realize who his father was until AFTER I read the book lol). I actually watched the movie before I read the book, so I kind of knew what to expect...or I thought I did at least! it's a pretty decent movie in comparison to the book, I think the book was a little more graphic than a few scenes in the movie though.

Emily I read Horns recently as well, for a different challenge. I thought it was really good, even if I didn't think it was scary. More disturbing (in a good way) than scary. But I liked it.

The only book of Hill's that I haven't read yet is NOS4A2, although I plan to read it soon, so I can't comment on that one. If you're looking for scary, I recommend Heart-Shaped Box. It's a ghost story and I thought it was very creepy. His short-story collection - 20th Century Ghosts - has some good, some not so good. Worth reading, because some of the short stories are pretty awesome and stuck with me, but - like I usually find with Stephen King's short story collections - you have to get through a few duds in order to get to the really good stuff.

My favorite of Hill's, though - if you like this sort of thing - is his Locke & Key comic book series. Starting with Locke & Key, Vol. 1: Welcome to Lovecraft, they're amazing. Great stories, great artwork (which I realize isn't him, but just pointing it out), really creepy. I've read a fair amount of comics - not a ton, but at least a dozen different series or stand-alone comics - and his is one of my favorites.

Anyway, that's my two cents on Joe Hill! Haha. Glad you both liked this one. :)

Brittany (tinsel hoarding bookdragon) (gamerkiti) Kate, I think I'm just going to have to buy digital copies of Hill's books, or look on amazon. I can't seem to find any book store (used or new)that carries his stuff currently - other than Horns which I already have a copy of!!!

Katrina (kknight419) | 6 comments if you liked the book, don't watch the movie. I didn't love the book, but the movie only vaguely followed the book & left out a lot of what made the book unique & interesting.
