I read about 1/3 of the first Fablehaven. I didn't see anything objectionable. It's a cute story but I'm not a fantasy fan & I left it at that. My 12 year old son read the series and seemed to really like it (and from what I read I thought it was harmless). Personally, I wouldn't consider it a book with strong moral value if that is what you are looking for but it's clean entertainment & I was fine with my son reading it. So Brandon Mull is LDS? That's interesting, I didn't know that.

Ya, I'm pretty happy with clean entertainment although I wish I could find stuff with stronger moral value.
My kids attended a young writer's conference where Brandon Mull spoke. After the conference they told me that he is LDS. Since reading your message, I asked wikianswers, "Is Brandon Mull LDS?" Their answer was, "Yes, Brandon served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chile."
