I have! I pre-ordered it quite a while back, because I knew I wouldn't be able to resist. The Shining was one of the first King books I read, and I can still remember it really clearly. It'll be interesting to see how Danny turned out :)

I read some excerpts looks as scary as the original! I'm excited but I forgot the ending from the first book & worried if it's relevant :s

I think it was just Danny escaping from the hotel? I can't really remember, either...I might have to have a quick peek at the last couple of pages before I start Doctor Sleep!

I can't find my copy & don't have time to ordet a new one now. Will you give me an overview of the ending if you do? Does Dad die or disappear? What happens to the hotel? Think I am going to pre-order. This place is no good for my bank balance *sigh* hahaha!

Karen | 120 comments I've got it on my wishlist, but as I've not read The Shining, I'm a bit worried that I won't know what the hell is going on....

How are you finding Doctor Sleep, Sam? I like it, and I've read it pretty quickly, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting it to be. I half thought Azzie would have a bigger role...and maybe the Overlook. I didn't really find it all that scary in a horror kind of way, either. Still, I suppose that's sequels for you :) I'm glad I read it, either way.
