Neither have I. According to io9.com:

"HiLo Books has just reissued a long-forgotten science fiction classic, E.V. Odle's 1923 novel The Clockwork Man. It may be the first cyborg story ever published. It's also the first book to explore the idea of uploads, and the technological Singularity. Plus, it's also about liberated 1920s women!"

Sounds like a long lost classic.

Steve Joyce (stevejoyce) | 18 comments Wow. I've been wanting to read this since perusing through N. Barron's Anatomy of Wonder. Iirc, he put an asterisk next to it meaning it was basically Hot Stuff. Thanks for the link!!

Let us know what you think about the book. Am still on the fence whether to read it.

Steve Joyce (stevejoyce) | 18 comments Will do. Just got it in the mail today but it'll take me a while to get to it.

Steve Joyce (stevejoyce) | 18 comments Ric, here ya go buddy: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

I'm not sure why there are so many (so far) low Goodreads ratings. I definitely found it very worthwhile. But, hey, that's me.

BTW, I *think* that someone posted the full text - of all places - on Facebook.

Steve, liked your review. Did you mean the full text of the book or of your review?

Steve Joyce (stevejoyce) | 18 comments I looked further:
