Kamila (pigeonface) Hi there, I'm Pigeon!
I make watercolor, digital and embroidered (!) illustrations which fit not only children books style - although I like using pastel colors, I make also more melancholic images in my own personal style.

If you're looking for illustrations for your text or maybe you need help with character/poster/cover/pattern design, see my portfolio!

What is the name of the publishing house?

Gawri Manecuta | 19 comments Hello Patti,
When you say Halo PI is accepting new submissions it's really a misleading term. Halo does not pay writers. As a self-publishing consultant myself I believe in being very honest in representing the facts. There are real traditional publishers who actually pay writers for submitting their manuscripts, vanity publishers - where the writer pays the publishing company for printing and marketing the books, publishing platforms - like CreateSpace, Bookbaby and the good old bindery printing where you pay just for printing the books.
Here are some reviews in the link below

Gawri Manecuta | 19 comments Hello Patti,
You got it all wrong. I'm so sorry to have hurt your feelings. I didn't mean to sound negative at all. It's pure facts. There are many people getting hurt in this industry and I meet and hear stories all the time.
As self-publishing consultants you and I probably know more about this market than most people but unfortunately the aspiring new author does not. It's our job to educate them. I learn new things everyday myself with the publishing industry. As writers we have to stick together and help each other.
I don't have time for bitterness because I need it to help others self-publish comfortably and be a writer myself.
I wish you and HPI all the luck.
