Here's another thing that you'll only discover if you read Feedback. It's possible that there are enough instances of people having files deleted - that Goodreads apparently didn't initiate - that they're trying to figure out where the glitch is coming from. And judging from Kara's responses, one of the theories is if people are using something to sync with Goodreads.

That's MY interpretation of this btw. Also note that Booklikes in particular is NOT mentioned here.

Except a) most people are simply exporting a csv file from here to upload to booklikes, and b) most of the reports Kara is responding to with this reply predate the current exodus.

I'd like to think this isn't a scare tactic.

yep, predatin earlier exodus. I know some that had files deleted because the sync. but their problem was solved quite fast from the syncing site, and they stopped the sync.

@Sharon, ok good to know. I've only tried sync with Booklikes so far, so I was immediately wondering if I should avoid even trying that out atm. Not like I don't have multiple csv backup files saved now, but still.
