If there is a series that you'd like for me to add, then please feel free to say so. I don't know what you guys read, so don't be shy. Like some of you have read Hana Kimi. I had never read it before, so I didn't know the name. If you want I can make a new discussion on Hana Kimi and others.

Chelsea (crystal_dark) | 271 comments Gakuen Alice by Tachibana Higuchi
Maid-sama by Hiro Fujiwara
Beast Master by Kyousuke Motomi
Boys Over Flowers: Hana Yori Dango by Yoko Kamio
You Also might like Zodiac P.I., Vol. 01 or Wild @ Heart, Vol. 1-3 since they are both by Natsumi Ando and you have read Kitchen Princess and Arisa.

Candy Candy (watcherofanimeandreaderofmanga) Uh, so is it just manga, or can I add anime?
If so, try Black Rock Shooter (Eng Dub).

message 7: by Candy (new)

Candy Candy (watcherofanimeandreaderofmanga) No, I mean the recommendations. Manga or anime, or both.

Chelsea (crystal_dark) | 271 comments I loved Hana Kimi! There is another manga series called Girl Got Game, Book 1 that is kind of similar that I think you would enjoy if you like Hana Kimi.

message 18: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) The anime Sankarea: Undying Love was a pretty good one I just checked out. It was about a girl who turned herself into a zombie and a cat turns into one too. It was pretty funny.

Elizabeth (hitchhikerbooks) Do you guys know any good fantasy mangas? I feel like there are loads of fantastic sci-fi and paranormal ones, but the only fantasy manga I've come across is Reimei no Arcana

Maybe the Alice in the Country of Hearts series. It also has several spin offs.
Alice in the Country of Hearts, Vol. 01 (Alice in the Country of Hearts, #1) by QuinRose Alice in the Country of Hearts, Vol. 1 (Alice in the Country of Hearts, #1-2) by QuinRose

Another possibility could be Sailor Moon.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, Vol. 1 (Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Renewal Editions, #1) by Naoko Takeuchi

message 23: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (hitchhikerbooks) I actually JUST started Sailor Moon haha! So far it's been a lot of fun. I think I may have read one of the Alice spin offs (which could account for my vague recollection of confusion if I was reading a spin off and not the original lol)

message 24: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (hitchhikerbooks) Also I don't know if any of you read Reimei no Arcana (which I 100% completely recommend) or if I'm alone on this, but I just read the latest scanlated chapter and OH MY GOD MY FEELS.

message 25: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) Sailor moon rocks! Love the anime and I'm watching an english fan dub of the final season right now.

I just read the manga series this year and have watched part of the last season of the anime with subtitles but I haven't finished the last season.

Thanks, I actually saw some episodes that were FanDub a while ago on YouTube and I think it may have been by the same people but I am not sure. The name sounds familiar though.

message 30: by Amber (new)

Amber (amberterminatorofgoodreads) no prob. They are doing it through vimeo with the episodes there and streaming them on their fb page and their website too.

anne⁷ (annenh2712) | 4 comments Hey guys, can you recommend me a good shonen title about adventure, friendship and fantasy. Something that's comedic but hides a deeper and thought-provoking concept. No ecchi. I'd rather there be no romance but it's okay if it's subtle. Please state if it's completed or ongoing.

Example of this is Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter and Shaman King. No Naruto, Fairy Tail and One Piece on the recos please! Thank you!

Have you seen Rave Master? It has both a manga and an anime and it is by the same mangaka as Fairy Tail.

I have only read a few of the earlier manga in the series and had seen the anime before reading them as well.

Professor (redpandaz) | 57 comments If you're looking for a fun anime thats really heartwarming and CRAZY funny, I reccomend Barakamon.

http://myanimelist.net/anime/22789/Ba...
It's really one of the funniest animes I've watched and the jokes come in natural, other than some animes that are really forced in. It's a Summer Anime 2014 so it's somewhat 'new'. Check it out if you're interested

I know I'm about 3 years too late, but I highly recommend the slice-of-life webtoon ReLife! I understand it might now be for everyone, but it's gotten pretty popular over the past year. I recommend giving it a shot :)

lorien ‧͙⁺˚*・༓ଳ Would anyone happen to have any slice-of-life or good fantasy like SAO? Thank you to those who help. :D

There is a book series from the 80s, I think, that has the same dynamic and story. People said SAO was a copy, actually. Wished I remember the name because it had great recs!

Maybe Log Horizon? It is kinda similar to SAO. Another one I know is Hai to Gensou no Grimgar, it is also fantasy/slice-of-life though it is a bit more gloomy.
