For January, after all the fun and games of the past few months, it's time for an open nominations round for Science fiction.


I'm not going to put any restrictions on the nominations other than the standard rules so knock yourselves out...


Remember our few rules:
1. They must be available as an ebook
2. One nomination and one seconding per person
3. No nominating your own book and
4. Mods can veto a nomination if they decide the book doesn't fit ... :-)

I'd like to nominate "The Beam: Season One" by Johnny B Truant and Sean Platt. Love that book and want other people to talk about it with.

I'll nominate the Lies of Locke Lamora. I just bought it but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Lies we read already ... back in March 2011 ... It's a pretty good book though, as is it's sequel.

It's also fantasy, not SF. ;-)

The Great Succession Crisis, which is on my reading list. It is a historical style sci-fi.

Oh my bad I misread it as a fantasy thread.

I'd suggest this wildly immersive off-world sci fi adventure about an Earth colony on an ocean-planet plunged into war and the young heroine at the center of the action:

I will second A Fire Upon the Deep and I will nominate Dauntless by Jack Campbell. I recently bought the first two books in the series on sale at Audible and I'm eager to check them out.
