I have no idea. I'm with you, Jason's brilliant.

I have no idea. i like Jason but i think Percy is better.

Woah!!

Jason isn't my favorite character by any means but I feel like a lot of people don't view him as his own character they just view him in relation to Percy.

Jason isn't my favorite character by any ..."
Yes! We shouldn't compare Jason to Percy just because they traded places for the first two books. Jason also seems like a weaker character because the POVs we had of him were only in the first book when he lost his memories. If he gets POVs in the next book, he might (hopefully) be a stronger character since he remembers everything - or most.

P.S. I saw that some one up there said Jason hasn't done as much as Percy, well, I beg to differ! He's done a bunch of things and gone on a lot of quests, we just haven't seen them firsthand like we have with Percy. Obviously he became praetor for a reason. He was the one who took care of the Titans in Los Angeles while Percy fought Kronus in New York, remember?

I think people don't like him because in the Lost Hero, he might have seemed like a replacement for Percy but he's really not. So, my thinking is that everyone keeps comparing him to Percy instead of accepting him as his own character. Maybe if people can learn to accept him as his own character, he might get a little more respect

It is hinted that Jason led over five quests for Camp Jupiter. And when does he ever think he is better than Percy? Jason is a better leader though. He actually thinks before he acts. Piper is allowed to have her own opinion on Percy whether it aligns with your personal one or not.

Percy does think before he acts. He wouldn't be able to win against Ares if he just charged blindly and wildly.
Also, why doesn't Leo have a real weapon like a sword, spear, scythe, axe, dagger or bow and arrow?
Though I guess to make up for that, Leo is easily able to summon bolts of fire without a problem and is a master mechanic, even better than other Hephaestus kids.

But that is just my opinion.

The whole Jason/Reyna/Piper thing is all Aphrodite's fault. I agree that Rick Riordan should make a series about Jason's side in the titan war. Maybe it could be called Jason Grace and the Gods of Rome or something.

I disagree. I think that if we had read about Jason before Percy, pretty much everyone would like Jason better. But I also feel that it's too late to go back to Jason's childhood.
I don't hate Jason, but I don't really like him much. He's definitely my least favorite character.
I don't think that being Piper's boyfriend makes him unloyal to Reyna, because they were never really together. Reyna may have had feelings for Jason, but they were obviously not reciprocated. He says that they were close, but I don't think they were ever any more than that. Of course, they may have become more if Jason had never met Piper, but that's really Hera's fault.

Jason doesn't need a sense of humor to be one of the coolest characters. (view spoiler) He is a Roman and Romans are not known for their humor. They are known for:
- Levelheadedness
- Organized
- Leadership
- Straight forwardness
- Calm
- And loyal, devoted friends
I say go Jason Grace. For he is awesome, cool, collected, smart, devoted, loyal, trusting, and he has suffered too much by the hands of Juno/Hera and by haters. Go Jason!

Also, he helped Nico in House of Hades. If he was soulless, and Nico is pretty hard to get along with, why would he bother?

Sometimes I feel like he is too perfect and Rick Riordan created his character as a foil for Percy's. Percy is perfectly imperfect, which is probably why we all love him.
Jason is strong, hardworking, and a good leader. He doesn't try to take the lead role from Percy (except when the eidons are controlling them) and he finds a home with Piper at Camp Half Blood.

But I think the main reason, which has been said before, is that we don't know him. With Percy we were given 5 first-person books, where we were able to really see who he was in great detail. When Jason, along with the other 5 characters, came in it is much more general and we don't get to know every single thing about them since there are other POVs in the books.
I think that his relationship with Percy is supposed to highlight not only the tensions between the Greeks and the Romans but also the tension between the children of the Big Three. In the Titan's Curse we also see a very tense moment between Thalia and Percy.
Lastly, his relationship with Piper kind of irks me. It seems that he just felt like he had to be with because she was available, pretty, and there. Unlike Percy and Annabeth's relationship where they really know each other and value each other's strengths and weaknesses. I don't know if Reyna and Jason would be a good couple or if I would like them together but it almost seemed to me that Jason got with Piper because he had to not because he wanted to.
Sorry, that turned about to be really long reason but the main point is: We know Percy in much more detail than Jason, so it is more difficult to accept him and determine who he is.

I mean, he always gets knocked out after a fight, and is absolutely useless. His only useful power is to FLY, but he couldn't save percabeth when the fell... he could have controlled the winds like he did with Piper in the Grand Canyon...but noooo.
(no flames, just me opinion)
(no flames, just me opinion)

I know that he was the first character of the riordanverse and all that, however, i don't think he should be always the only one in the spotlight, you guys are too obsessed with Percy, this limits your intelligence and makes you unable to appreciate and like any new character, because you are too busy caring only about Percy, is "Percy, Percy, Percy, Percy, Percy, Percy, Percy here, Percy that, Percy....." all the time.
You guys are so obsessed with Percy, that the only new character most of you liked, was Leo. And WHY? Because Leo is basically a "Percy" with fire powers, and that's it, the only reason why you guys liked Leo, is because he is a sarcastic little shit that jokes about everything, just like Percy, again, the problem is this stupid obsession with Percy.

1: "Jason is arrogant".
Jason IS NOT arrogant, he is confident, there is a difference.
Confidence: "I can do this!" Arrogance: "I will do this! Because everyone else is a piece of shit and i am better". See the difference? Jason NEVER said anyone was a piece of shit compared to him, he never said he was better than everyone, NEVER! Jason himself doesn't view himself as "the best", he judges himself everytime, if you guys had truly read his chapters, instead of being obsessive about Percy, you would know that. Actually the "Fanon" Percy, the Percy that you guys like to imagine, that is too different from the real Percy, is thousands times more arrogant, FUCKING HADES! THALIA, Jason's sister was arrogant and i don't see no one complaining or hating on her!
If you guys want to really know why Jason show confidence, is because he was raised by a pack of wolves, who threatened to kill him if he ever showed any sign of weakness, THIS is the reason why he acts confident, not because he is arrogant.

WOW! So you guys wanted Jason to be another Percy's copy, another sarcastic little shit that jokes about everything. Aren't Percy and Leo enough? Do you want to make Jason as well to be just like them?
Jason is serious because he was abandoned by his mother, raised by a pack of wolves, and lived most of his life in a fucking military camp! You can't expect a person that lived like that to be all laid back and relaxed like Percy or Leo. You need some seriousness in life as well, you can't just live your life like it was some kind of joke, because it isn't.
People say that you can't relate to Jason, i disagree, i know some people that CAN relate to Jason, i think that you guys can't relate to him, because you probably don't have any famous relative and probably don't seek to be accepted as yourself. I will explain:
Imagine if your father was a famous musician, and then everyone just expects for you to be as good as him, sometimes looks like people only want to meet you because of your father, not because of YOU, YOU don't matter, your relation to your father that matters.
THIS is how Jason lives, almost no one views him as "Jason Grace", most people view him just as "The son of Jupiter", and as the son of Jupiter, everyone expects him to be "the best", no one cares about his best, they just want him to be "The best", Jason lives like this, Jason lives in the shadow of his father. People who live like him, can relate to him. When your parents demands you to be "more like your brother", you can relate to Jason.
So, use your brain, before saying something so stupid like "no one can relate to Jason".

WRONG!! As i stated before, Jason doesn't consider himself better than anyone, he isn't trying to replace anyone, he is just trying to find his own place in the crazy world he lives. Rick never stated he wants to write only about Percy, and Percy ISN'T the only demigod with leadership on the entire planet! Jason himself led the roman demigods to attack the Titan's base. Remenber that before saying "Percy is the only one able to lead" because your opinion is based on your personal liking, not on facts! Just because Jason is confident in his own abilities and doesn't worship Percy like a god, like you do, doesn't mean he is trying to replace Percy.
4: "Piper finds Percy unimpressive" Piper just said Percy didn't LOOKED like a big deal, he just didn't looked like a big deal. If you don't know, Piper DIDN'T lived adventures with Percy, she lived adventures with JASON and LEO, this is way, for her, they both looked more imprevissive than Percy. Unlike you, Piper didn't had five books to read about Percy's adventures.
Also, Percy already had Annabeth, Rachel, Reyna, Calypso, some amazons, FREAKING NICO DI ANGELO, do you really want to add Piper to the list? What? Do you want EVERYONE to worship Percy? You guys sounds like the christians of middle age, trying to force everyone to submit and love the only and true god (Percy), because liking anyone else is heresy.. seriously, not everyone loves Percy, there are people who doesn't worship Percy like you do, myself, i like Nico and Jason far more than Percy.

-Percy blew up a volcano.
-Jason blew up a mountain.
-Percy fought more titans, however, he needed help in every fight.
-Jason fought more giants, and defeated one titan, however, he defeated the titan with his bare hands, without help from anyone.
-Percy faced Kronos.
-Jason faced Gaea. Gaea > Kronos
-Percy had fallen in Tartarus for Annabeth.
-Jason had jumped from the Grand Canyon to save Piper, and this was BEFORE he even knew he could fly.
-Percy was offered immortality, something that some heroes before him were offered as well.
-Jason is the ONLY demigod who witnessed the true form of a goddess, and is alive to tell the story. Repeating, he is the ONLY ONE, there is no one else.
-Percy killed two snakes as a child.
-Jason was raised by a pack of wolves.
-Percy navigated the Sea of Monsters.
-Jason, a son of the god of the SKY, went to the bottom of the ocean and saved Percy.
"Why didn't Jason saved Percabeth? He is useless!"
Well, Frank could had transformed into a eagle and saved them as well, and still he didn't, so stop blaming only Jason. And really, no one of the seven is useless, just because they didn't acted as you wanted and needed to be saved sometimes, doesn't mean he/she is completely useless. Nico was completely useless in the fight against the twin giants, why no one complains about him?

WRONG!! As i stated before, Jason doesn't consider himself better than anyone, he isn't trying to replace anyone, he is just trying to find his own place in th..."
