That theme song always felt whimsical to me, then I learned the words/title and felt silly, lol.

I am really enjoying this thread. It's finding out all this random stuff about others. Though I am mad jealous that Ladyamelia met Queen Oprah. :(

So what I am hearing is...if we ever have an in person meet & greet, the menu should include:

Mangoes, avocados, Liver & onions, Pad Thai, Broccoli, twizzlers, and oreos (minus the cream filling).

Ms. Fountain Pen Diva you rock! You may be one of the most interesting people that I have yet to meet! Lol My life isn't as interesting as yours, maybe I will just live vicariously through you!! On the outside I may be a little quieter and more reserved than you are; but you know what they say about the quiet ones... :)

Shiree, you are so right about how freeing these lists can be. I have a tendency to overshare on the internet which can be dangerous. Which is weird because in real life, I have no problem keeping my business to myself. I tend to be the go to secret keeper in my group because of that.

Monica...I'm assuming you are active military or your husband is. I'm in Oklahoma right now...which base. Vance,Tinker, or Fort Sill.

2. At the age of 29, I developed an allergy to some shellfish, so I can no longer eat crayfish, crab or lobster.
3. I know how to say three things in Chinese: my house is in Manchuria, shut up and how much does your mother cost.
4. I hate the flavour of cardamom.
5. My grandfather died on the eve of Hurricane Irene. My father died six months later. Sometimes I still feel lost without both of them.
6. I love dark chocolate, especially Belgian and Swiss dark chocs.
7. In April, I walked right into Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister on "Game of Thrones") on a street here in Stockholm.
8. I always order a large quadruple-shot caffe latte when I am at Starbucks. I like my coffee strong.
9. I've had three miscarriages, which is why my husband and I don't have kids.

R.E.- it's my hubby that is active duty Air Force and our very first duty station was Vance AFB in Enid, Oklahoma a.k.a. Enid, America!! It was back in 1998-2001 & they did not even have a movie theater at the time. We would have to make day trips down to Oklahoma City just to have something to do, but we remember it fondly!

I've been to Enid plenty of times...it's a strange place. Nice people but strange.

True story. My husband who is white, had never had collard greens before he met me. He came to Thanksgiving dinner with my fam the year before we got married and FELL IN LOVE with greens. So each summer he insists that we plant greens in our garden. They are the hardiest plants evah! I live in the the Fingerlakes area of New York, and right now everything in our garden is dead, dead, dead ...except the greens. We can still go and pick a ton. So my husband insists we have them like every other week. I taught him how to make them complete with the salt pork and making pot liquor.

Funny Tina. My husband is Japanese and he eats more fried chicken than anyone I know. I don't take request from him anymore because its always fried chicken and something.

OMG, you live in Sweden..?! Where? I'm in the capital, Stockholm.

Oh my goodness! I have 4 dogs, 1 cat- all rescues! I just love to hear that I'm not the only one with so many pets.

I am active duty, missed thanksgiving, missing Christmas , will miss birthdays with my babies, miss just reading just because....

1) I swallowed a quarter when I was 4 and my brother saved my life.
2) I get amped about video games like men do
3) I was born with twelve fingers LOL (of course the extras were removed shortly thereafter)
4) I can’t say the word “balls” without giggling. Even when I’m not talking about THOSE balls.
5) I still use the same hair scarf from high school (Yes, I wash it). Mind you, I graduated in 2001, so…..
6) Mushrooms gross me out because I can’t get past the fact that they’re fungus
7) I’m 30 and have been married for 11 years this coming February
8) I just learned how to swim the summer of 2012

I don't wear the same scarf because its too beat up, but I still have it. I just can't seem to part with it.

5. I come from a really racist part of southeast Texas, and had to run for my life multiple times due to my skin color, consequently I run fast.

6. My youngest aunt died when she was a toddler because the hospital in town refused to see a black baby, and I think about this often. I'm thankful that the world is moving in a better direction.

7. I was the only girl/person of color on my high school chess team, and I got to play a future grandmaster during the Texas state tournament in 1996. I still have all of my chess trophies.

8. I lived in a one room shack in the country with my granny for a few years. We grew everything we ate, and there was no plumbing. We had to wash clothes in a metal washtub outside, and yes I used an OUTHOUSE on a regular basis. This gives me a greater appreciation for modern conveniences.

9. I had a massive crush on a boy in high school, and one day he noticed me and smiled at me... I still remember the rush of emotions that I felt just because he knew my name. He was a popular football player, and I was a chess nerd/writer for the school paper, so it was pretty amazing for him to have noticed me at all. He died in a tragic car crash just three days later, and I use him as inspiration for some of my romantic heroes.

10. I have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, and I've been dealing with some serious complications. I really really want to live long enough to see my children into adulthood, but I'm dealing with some quantity of life issues. Reading sappy, fairytale romance is my favorite distraction from the health problems and pain I deal with every day. If there are any fellow Lupies in this group, please know that I sympathize and I pray every day for those with chronic, incurable illnesses.

What is keloids?

1. I wrote my first book at age 67.
2. I am doing what I thought I would never do, and that is writing articles and authoring so far, five books.
3. I have just completed my sixth book: Deception in Plain Sight
