God, I don't know what to expect! Ok I'll give book 1 a try.. Thanks!! ;)

Sorry for barging in but speaking from personal experience, the last chapters of book 1 will be more than enough to hook the readers in.

Few days to go. Oct 8 is the RD of the last book.

And, for the record, I am Team Tony all the way!

I know, I can't wait!!!!! :)

I am Team Tony too!!!! I don't think I will be happy if they don't end up together!! :/

After the second book, I wish I could un-read it.
Not even going to bother with the third one.

As someone that loves this series, I can't help but find this comment offensive and judgmental. Ummmm, it is a book. I don't think that any of us find rape and abuse romantic in real life. Plus, there was way more going on in these books than rape and abuse.

Did anyone even know who David Gandy was until he became the poster man for nearly all smexy romance novels written, lol?

Cannot wait to start the second book!

if you thought the good book was good wait until u see book 2 waaaaaaaaay better

Damn do not tempt me. Oh soooo please. I actually need to sleep and am seriously contemplating to start reading and just go to work tom w/o sleep and harass everyone in the office lol.

i would suggest go to sleep coz once you open that book u won't be able to put it down maybe you could start reading over the weekend so that everyone at work would be safe :p

Tony does redeem himself and become empathetic BUT it's a hard read if you really like feel good books You may have a hard time with this one. This one is very raw and I could not stop reading it was well written I thought. I like that the female lead was a little older and educated it made it seem more plausible. TONY needed someone to make him have feelings and Claire was perfect. Read them consecutively it reads better that way - the third book really puts it in perspective.

Red, I kind of get where you are coming from with this comment. I actually am not that adverse to reading non-con erotica, but found this series unsettling. I really enjoyed the first book as complete mind f*** theater. It was an awesome, but disturbing read.
The second book that tried to turn Tony into some kind of romantic hero disturbed much more than the picture painted in Consequences as a complex villain. This series was closer to an autopsy of an abusive relationship than a dark romance, IMO.
I'm a fan of the series, but find it disturbing how anyone can see Tony as loving. All I got was a beautiful exterior with a dark soul. I think the big difference between this and the Dark Duet for me was the heroines. Claire just wasn't as strong as Liv. They were both brutalized but felt Claire didn't come out that whole on the other side, so she felt like a forever victim to me.

Yes, I completely agree with you. I just can't wrap my head around the "Team Tony!" stuff and trying to make him into some romantic and loving guy. And before anyone tells me "it's just fiction", I *know* that it's fiction, but a fictional asshole rapist is still an asshole rapist.
Granted, I haven't read the third book, but unless it ends with Tony getting a bullet in the head I'm not interested.

Weirdly it wasn't that rape itself that made me hate Tony with the heat of a thousand suns. For me, it was the "incident". I don't care what your mother told you, "I'm sorry", doesn't make everything better. After that, Tony became completely unredeemable for me.
At the same time, I can't get on a high horse because I loved the Dark Duet series. Caleb could never qualify as a book boyfriend, but he was damaged enough that I could see his thinking process a little better. Tony's motivation just wasn't extreme enough to warrant his behavior so I couldn't connect with him the way a lot of my book buddies did.

LOVED Dark Duet, but I really think of Dark Duet as a (very sick) love story. This - not at all. This is a complete and total mind fuck.
Personally, I LOVE books that I cannot wait until I get home from work and grab the kindle and dig in again.

I don't understand the "Team Tony!" sentiments either. Especially, if you've made all the way to the end of the first book. If the story tries to redeem Tony in the second book, I think I'm going to be very pissed at this series.

I know that for me I had totally different feelings after each book. At the end of the series I was like "How the hell did I get from feeling the way I felt after book one to how I felt after book 3". Crazy!! but I couldn't stop reading and that is what made it an amazing series for me.

Mocha, one of the main reason I didn't like the second book, and most likely won't read the the third is the attempt to make Tony likable. It didn't work for me because he worked better as a villain. It doesn't help that the "reasoning" for his behavior doesn't excuse the magnitude of his wrongs. If he was just the typical Fifty-Shade-a-like-alpha-hole, then maybe I could just go with it. Unfortunately he is psychopath of the highest order, so he isn't redeemable in my eyes, nor really capable of great love because of being incapable of the emotion, IMO. I think he can obsess like all abusive types.

Claudia- I finished the This Man's trilogy right before starting into the Consequences trilogy. I really enjoyed the This Man trilogy, but my mind was completely blown away by the Consequences trilogy- It seriously took over my life. The author writes so vividly that you become engrossed in the book and feel apart of it. Its a completely different type of read and you have to jump feet first in and trust the author, but believe me the decent is well worth the agony. The Consequences series is truly one of the best trilogies I have come across. Your mind will be so twisted and you will question your own thoughts and feelings, but in the end the author will completely put you back together after tearing you apart.

Ummm i'm a little confused... you are Team Rapist and Abuser all the way?! wow... good to know...

I'm thinking this is kind of like This Man's trilogy by J.E. Malpas. I remember hating and not understanding Jesse Ward in books 1 and 2 but then I liked him in book 3. Either way, I thought it was a great trilogy.
So what do you think? Do you recommend it? Thanks!
