Final Task

Using the titles (or covers) of the books read in the completed tasks write your own story. (Halloween themed or not - your choice)

Rules:
1) Minimum 6 books
2) You can use any number of tasks you want, but, you have to use ALL titles/covers in that task.
3) You must post the tasks chosen and your story on the Event #2: Clues & Final Task thread.

Eve, a spooky voice said, your Lover Awakened from a Frost Burned Shadowfever in The Kingdom. For him you will face a wall of Warm Bodies, unravel Tangled Threads and enter the Carnival of Souls. For he's your Lover Eternal and only with him will you share The Wicked Kiss.

So the final task has been posted. We need to come up with a "story" with at least 6 of our book titles.

I just saw that we need a final task story. I can look at it later today!

This is what I've got so far. Just needs the Ceremony in Death adding in... Quite happy to let people change it however they see fit as well - or come up with a completely separate way to link the titles together.

It was a fairy tale land in the mist in the mirror. Pies were always baked with four and twenty blackbirds and witches met to touch the dark and chant ‘fire burn and cauldron bubble’ while their potions, from the graveyard book, were brewing. This was no place from film though, no illusions from Jurassic Park in this land. Instead it was a land where things were turned on their head – the land where the ugly stepsister strikes back and the princess doesn’t always get Prince Charming.
Instead of Sleeping Beauty sleeping for 100 years, there’s a woman who went to bed for a year. She had spent spring feeling under attack, feeling that the evil under the sun was about to escape the well of ascension and feed on the people of earth. The time in bed was a time to think, to plot and to plan. Eventually, she found she could touch the dark in her sleep and this allowed her to formulate her fatal strike.

That is really good Sophie.

Just registered it's got touch the dark in it twice...

Find it interesting what my sleep deprived brain came up with for this!

Could change the last sentence to 'Eventually she recognised the ceremony in death that was needed and then she planned the fatal strike'. Gets the last book in and removes the repetition.

Or you could add at the beginning something like, Before The Ceremony in Death it was a fairy tale land as seen in the mist in the mirror.

That would make it possible to round off the story and have the plan returning it to a normal fairy tale world

I love it and I will try and get finished by tomorrow

Looking at the page for the final task https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... they've added in more bonus points if you use all 15. This would get us those 5, but we could get 5 more if we submit something using the original rules above.

I'll try to write one up later today (probably using step 2 and 4 because I can see a bit of a link with the titles).

In the mist in the mirror the ugly stepsister strikes back against the chosen child; four and twenty blackbirds spring from the pie; and the woman who went to bed for a year says 'touch the dark' and refuses to be roused by Prince Charming's kiss.
