Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments Good to know - I sometimes get free books from one of the publishers, and this was one of them. I'd not heard anything about it, so now I'll keep it on my "to read" list.

Lisa Hickman (lbhick) | 986 comments Betsy, how do you manage to get free books from a publisher?

Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments I think it may be Random House. I went to their web site and found a place to sign up as a leader of a book group. Then I started getting free books in the mail. Many were advance copies, but my most recent package contained a soft cover version of a hard cover they'd already sent me.

Some have been dogs and I've given them away without reading them, but others have been keepers, and then some I hung on to since I knew nothing about them and they weren't obvious losers. This one fell into the latter category. I just looked on the RH website and I don't see anything so maybe it wasn't Random House or maybe they just stopped doing it. I'll try to dig up one of the books and see which house it was.

Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments I just remembered to look. Broadway Books is the publishing company I get freebies from. But I don't see anything on their web site about signing up any more (although I didn't look hard). It may have only been there for a short time and I just lucked out.

I believe Broadway Books is a division of Random House. Perhaps they just go with the books that Random House gives out via it's reader's program.
