When I first read the title of this book - Pallitine - was a word I hadn't heard of. Having read the blurb of what the book is about, it is to do with what I had only previously heard referred to as - Palatine - Knights. However, as it is fiction, I suppose you can spell it how you want to! If this is what you intended then that is fine - but if it is an overlooked spelling error - then no, it's not fine.

Thanks for the question. Pallitine is a sort of hybrid of Paladin - thought of as a holy knight from Dungeons and Dragons parlance, but originating in the 16th century, and Palatine / Palatinae - from Ancient Rome - a term for members of the imperial guard, and used later again in the Holy Roman Empire as Palatinus / Count Palitine who acted as a representative at court proceedings and was authorized to carry out decisions.

In the series Pallitine's Path, of which Pallitine Rising is the first entry, the Order of Guardians is the organization which employs the pallitines. In this setting, pallitines are a knightly order (with strong ties to the Church of Orn) that serve some of the same functions as noted above. They act as protectors for the areas they are assigned, they can serve as abitrators, and are given the authority to dispense justice (often in conjunction with the Tramirian Rangers - a sort of medieval state police which patrol the major roads, ensuring their safety from brigands and the like.)

In the book, the name is derived from the name of the first leader of the Order of Guardians some 300 years earlier. In actuality, I was looking for a name that really contained the essence of what their functions would be and found none, so I combined the two best fitting I could find and altered it to fit my needs.

RIDDLE IN STONE is a bit grim in spots. But I don't think the gore is without merit. Bad things happen when people mess with the goblins of the mountains.

BETRAYAL IN THE HIGHLANDS is far less dark; but hopefully it'll still keep your attention.

It would be nice to have something other than fantasy though! No disrespect to fantasy and if that's the genre you enjoy, then it's great, but we do seem to have rather a glut of them at the moment.

Historical Fiction/Fact mostly - but not exclusively. Fantasy is one I find extremely difficult to even try to read - unless it is also very funny

I would be happy to send a pdf version of my book, Angel War, to anyone who would truly like to read and review it. As it took me twenty six years to write, I felt I owed it to my story to get it published. The seed to write my story was planted in my brain when I was a schoolboy. It was inspired by Chapter Six of the Book of Revelation, which speaks of the war in heaven, fought between Michael and his angels and the dragon and his angels. The Bible only says that the war happened, but not why, so I decided to write my own version of the events of the war and its aftermath. Dragons and angels have been part of our culture for at least four thousand years, and I found that writing my own version of their origin and history interesting and worthwhile. My book is essentially the biography of Azel, the Prince of the White Castle of the Angels of Light, the one who early in his life transforms himself in a hidden mountain cave into a four legged, scaled beast, and names himself the Dragon, and who later becomes known on Earth, after his defeat in the war he started in the angel lands, as Lucifer, the Devil, Satan. My book could be called a fantasy, rooted in the Bible. It involves my own version of what happened in Eden, why Cain slew Abel, why Judas betrayed Jesus, how Mary Magdalene was saved, and concludes with events in the twentieth century, such as the sinking of Titanic and the plans of American and Russian politicians and scientists to put into place their Star Wars Defence System plan. The latter half of my story deals with the journey of Khem, the Child of the Mountain, down to the Citadel, the home of the Dragon, to challenge him to combat with his Silver Sword. One of the main themes of my book is how Saint John came to write the Book of Revelation on the island of Patmos and how his prophecies came to be fulfilled.
The first two chapters of my book can be read on the page for my book on Amazon, using the Look Inside facility and on Wattpad. It is only available as a paperback and is 536 pages long. It has its own page on the Fast Print Publishing on line bookshop at:

On its front cover it has an illustration by Gustave Dore, called The Woman and the Dragon, and on its back cover, it has an illustration by the same artist, called The Fall of Babylon.
Here is the blurb I wrote for the back cover of my book:
From an early age, Azel, the Prince of the White Castle of the Angels of Light, plans what he calls his great rebellion against the Father. After his self transformation into a four legged, scaled beast, he names himself the Dragon. At the head of his rebel angel army and his dragon flocks, he brings war to the angel lands. His intention is to dethrone the Father and rule in his place. Khem, the Child of the White Mountain, vows upon his Silver Sword to be his slayer. The lonely, perilous path of the dragonslayer, he takes. At its end, he stands alone, to challenge the Father's foe to combat.

I don't know how to do this exactly - but I think you have to e-mail a PDF version to whoever reviews it for you.... so from a privacy point of view it would be as safe as other e-mails. There are others here in this group that could tell you a lot more and I'm sure they will, as soon as they see your post. Best of luck!!

You can use a program called Calibre (it's a free download) to convert to various e-book formats.

There's no explicit protection from piracy, it's a matter of trust.

This group has members in both the UK and US. And... I just noticed that T4bsF just said that, so... nevermind.

Anywho - due to the nature of needing to send out the file, (be it epub, mobi, or pdf) without any form of copy-protection to readers, it is a matter of trust.

For me, it helps to keep in mind that most people are genuinely honest, and will not simply upload the book willy-nilly. The rest are likely too interested in pursuing other, easier methods of attaining books en masse, rather than receiving them individually from forums such as this one.

Here is the premise.
Alex Cave is leisurely cruising his sailboat in Puget Sound when a hysterical voice on an oil tanker begs for help on the radio. He sees the behemoth ship through his binoculars an instant before it is engulfed in a brilliant flash of white light. Upon investigation Alex finds the crew and 80,000 tons of crude oil have vanished without a trace. The Coast Guard cannot find a spill, and the crew is found frozen to death on a mountain 150 miles away. The Alaska pipeline and west coast refineries are suddenly empty. Transportation of basic necessities cannot reach the cities. Chaos reigns and common citizens turn to primal instincts to survive. Panic grips the nation as more oil disappears. The national economy will be destroyed and thousands of people will die. Can Alex Cave, a collage teacher and CIA consultant, discover the secret of the vanishing oil before it’s too late? Or will the nation succumb to, DEAD ENERGY.
