100 books to read before you die discussion

Hello everyone,
I am being inspired by my daughter who wants to complete the list of books to read before you are 14 years old. I thought it would be good for me to start the 100 books to read before you die but have no idea which list to start with. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be fantastic.

I started it by reading the descriptions and then picked a genre I'd never really read before and loved it. I'd read something that's either from a genre you love or one you've never read before but most importantly pick the on you think sounds the coolest :-) I think I read "Cloud Atlas" first, it was completely different from anything I've read before and it was awesome!

Can someone give me a primer on how the group is meant to work, or its purpose? For example, once i've read a book, am i meant to update the group?

I have used the group as a way to track my own progress through the top 100 list. As I finish a book I cross it off of my main list and then add a message on what I might have thought about it and what I will be working on next. I also like looking through other peoples comments to get an idea on how the list is going for others and their comments on books that I have read. That is how I have used it anyway. Not sure about others.
