John Karr (karr) | 64 comments New season premier tonight. Decent plots to go along with the zombie theme.

Carolyn F. I'm so excited! :)

message 3: by Charles (new)

Charles (kainja) | 85 comments I enjoyed the episode quite a bit. Also watched The Talking dead and it looks like we're going to have an exciting season.

message 4: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I've still got Talking Dead on my DVR. Did watch the episode and if you read the graphics, whoa momma! Although some of the stuff has already happened - you probably have no idea what I mean :)

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 9 comments It's raining zombies....

message 6: by Mark (new)

Mark Lawicki | 63 comments Ok guys...I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode and am excited for the second. One thing that piqued my interest was the illness of the pig violet. I immediately thought 'swine flu' or H1N1. But then I also thought that, since the zombie apocalypse only affected human beings, what if other animals are also now becoming infected. Not only will this ruin many sources of food for the survivors, but it will also make the world that much more dangerous for them. Maybe the kid who apparently died in the prison showers at the end of the last episode died because he ate some meat that was tainted by a sick animal like Violet? Thoughts?

message 7: by Charles (new)

Charles (kainja) | 85 comments I think we're clearly being led to suspect that the virus has jumped species. It'll definitely be interesting as to how it plays out.

message 8: by John (new)

John Karr (karr) | 64 comments Couple things I didn't realize, being a relative newcomer to the series.

1. Everybody is infected. If you don't receive a head shot just before death, or get eaten, then you come back as a Walker/Biter.

2. Andrew Lincoln a.k.a. Rick Grimes, southern boy Sheriff, is English. I know it happens but he pulls off the southern pretty well!

message 9: by John (new)

John Karr (karr) | 64 comments I'm also reading a collection of Zombie tales. On H.P. L.'s Reanimator at the moment. Going full zombie media here.

message 10: by John (new)

John Karr (karr) | 64 comments As for the animals being infected. It's logical, but the surviving humans have such long odds as it is, I wonder if tainting the food supply will really stretch things too thin.

message 11: by John (new)

John Karr (karr) | 64 comments Wife asked what's sexier, a female zombie or vampire? As fun as zombies are, I'd have to go vampire.

message 12: by Mark (new)

Mark Lawicki | 63 comments I'm glad you seem to agree with me (John and Charles). If the virus has jumped species, the inevitable end of the surviving humans will come quickly in my opinion. It is bad enough that the survivors must deal with hordes of flesh-eating zombies on every run they make for supplies, but imagine a world where the 'living' might also be attacked by flesh-eating or zombified deer, wolves, wild dogs, birds, pigs, rodents, etc. How long could anything living on earth hope to continue existing when so many dark forces of nature are attempting to extinguish their light?

message 13: by Charles (new)

Charles (kainja) | 85 comments They derailed the 'zombie' virus jumping species on the last episode. Turns out to be more prosaic, but interesting.

I don't know. Have you seen "zombie strippers?"

Not yet. Is it thumbs-up or down?

Saw a little of the Talking Dead show last week where he was one of the guests. What, there were no good American leads out there to play Southerners? ;)

message 18: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 9 comments Probably cheaper. Have to admit he does an excellent job though

message 19: by John (new)

John Karr (karr) | 64 comments So this season ended, and pretty well I thought. There's talk of a spin-off in a year or so too. Huge money maker for AMC.

message 20: by Domino (new)

Domino Finn (dominofinn) | 8 comments The Walking Dead is getting more amazing as the seasons go on. It's a property that will be a round in some shape or another for a while.

message 21: by Marie (new)

Marie I have been binge watching TWD for the last month and I am up to season 9 on Netflix. It has been interesting to binge watch them. Lots of characters killed off though throughout all the seasons. I have to make sure not to get attached to anyone as they might end up dead. lol :)

RJ - Slayer of Trolls (hawk5391yahoocom) I started getting worn out a bit by TWD - I felt like the show peaked in seasons 3-6 - but have stuck with it anyway. Some of the first half of season 11 (the final season for the original series) has been pretty good, and it has helped that they have created a lot of material that was not in the original source comic books, in order to keep things mysterious. My favorite storylines have always been when the group is on the road trying to survive and scavenging whatever they can find, and there has been a little more of that in season 11 so far which I think has helped make it more compelling for the viewer. I'm looking forward to the last few episodes.
