How Scary?

I like some scary. I don't do the Horror genre but I do like some suspense/scary elements to some degree to keep me at the edge of my seat for a bit. As long as everything has the HEA and happy happy at the end.
I don't do much for Halloween. My daughter will dress up and go out but I'd just as soon stay in and enjoy at home. No costumes for me. I have dressed up in the past and gone to parties and such but I guess I grew out of it.

Reading wise I don't like full on horror but love suspense. At the same time, I hate a "funny" paranormal romance. I need my supernatural heroes and heroines to be a little scary. Give me Lothaire over Edward anyday.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and it is heavily celebrated where I work so I will be dressing up. I am going to be Tippy Hedren from The Birds. I will likely stay in costume while I pass out candy.

That's a really creative costume, Kim.
I have enjoyed scary books since I was a kid. I prefer the old school horror, with more atmosphere than gore and guts. I don't like reading about serial killers and psychopathic humans. I like supernatural horror. I do like books to be quite scary. I can tolerate a very scary book compared to movies. Movies can be more scary and disturbing to me because they are more visual. I admit that I can be overscared.
I enjoy October because I like the spooky feel of the month, but by the end of the month, I'm ready to go back to normal, and tone down the spooky level. :)
My friend has a party every year. I haven't decided what I am going to do. I usually don't decide until too late and so my costumes aren't that great.

love the costume, Kim! lol
I have done some nifty costumes in the past but never anything scary. I won $100 for my caveman costume one year (many, many, many years ago). No one knew it was me. I walked hunched over and had a mask on.

Love that must if you guys had people guessing. That's the fun! Lol

I haven't really done scary/spooky books! Might give some a go?!?!
