Yes please, suggestions are indeed welcome :)
What kind of topics, suggestions, reads etc would y'all like?

Ann L. | 55 comments I wish I knew which of these mysteries are upbeat/light-hearted. It is all I can read these days ... that tricky business of writing a mystery - but somehow thrillingly upbeat/positive.

We can easily create a new category in the bookshelf, but I doubt any one of us here knows enough about the nearly 900 titles we have listed to be able to re cross-reference them all under 'humor'. Or not. It would be an enormous project...

Beth | 10 comments I can suggest a few light-hearted / upbeat mysteries among the new titles, if you like. For instance, I recommend Colin Cotterill -- his series featuring Dr Siri Paiboun in Laos in the 1970s is loving and bright, even though it's also classic puzzle solving.

What a great suggestion! You reminded me that I'm behind with this series.

Beth | 10 comments Glad it's useful! I've also just enjoyed Cuyler Overholt, a true storyteller with a good historical mystery series: see http://kingdombks.blogspot.com/2017/08/second-nyc-historical-crime-fiction.html

Hi Beth, hah, I have been caught out...the Cotterill/Dr.Siri bookcovers are some of my favorite in mystery book covers. I started one and was surprised to find it seemed a bit too dark/depressing for me...but I will try it again because I likely got something all wrong with that perception.

Beth | 10 comments Ann, the newest Cotterill (The Rat Catchers' Olympics) is a real charmer ... hope you give it a try.
