There aren't very many books about witches and even fewer that are great. If you know of a book that has witches in and you think it is good.

Leslie | 16369 comments @Aaron - In the future, please include book titles rather than covers in your posts. Book covers don't always show up in the GoodReads apps, so using titles allows everyone to see what books you are talking about.

Amaryllis (amellin) Definitely Wicked and all following books, in short "The wicked years"-series from Gregory Maguire.

Arthurian books fall into 2 camps - the 'straight' retellings such as T H White's series, and the ones that try to delve into what might be the historical basis for the stories. Rosemary Sutcliffe's Sword at Sunset is an early example of the latter and one I enjoyed when I read it a long time ago.

Another one that comes to mind but for the wrong reasons is Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon - wouldn't recommend that. I thought it was awful.
