Classics Without All the Class discussion

Please keep conversation to these chapters. Beware there will be spoilers!

After reading chapters 8-15 I am still captivated by the story. It is discovered that all the woman capable of bearing a child have become pregnant during the Dayout. I would think most woman would be terrified whether they admit it or not.

Somehow the people of Midwich manage to keep it a secret from outsiders. I think with modern technology it probably would be harder to keep the secret. Nowadays events are on the internet most of the time as they are happening or soon after.

After the Children are born they appear normal except they have golden colored eyes and pale silvery skin. However, eventually it is discovered that the Children appear to have telepathic abilities. The Children seem to be able to control their host mothers and be able to communicate with each other. The Children having telepathic abilities sounds scary to me. They have already caused some havoc using their telepathic abilities and I am sure they are going to create more havoc.

It also appears that there are two distinct mind types - one for boys and one for girls. I find it interesting the author did not just have all the Children have the same mind type.
