Thoughts?

Mayuri | 48 comments Not as good as the other two books in the series, but Roth still has me asking for more. Although I'm not done yet, I read he ending and WITHOUT spoilers, I will say that it is EXTREMELY SAD!

YOU WILL CRY!

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments While the book had some flaws, as all books do, I loved it. I know a lot of people are saying that the ending sucks and Tobias is out of character, but the thing is those things needed to happen. In the first 2 books the story is told from only Tris' perspective. We only see what she thinks about Tobias and we never get to be inside his head, for the exceptions of Free Four and the Transfer. So in this book we see the still broken side of Tobias and the internal conflict literally breaking him into pieces.

I don't want to spoil the ending, but yes it is incredibly sad, I cried for days, and am still crying lol! But the ending is extremely symbolic and resolves one of the major conflicts in the series. It's a beautiful and powerful ending :)

Mayuri | 48 comments I agree. I thought that Tobias was perfect.

I'm reading it right now and I think Tobias is really out of character and Tris is kind of bugging me too. Also, I think I may have accidentally spoiled the ending for myself by flipping through pages of the book. Oops!

Mayuri | 48 comments I do that all the time.

I try and fail not to. XD

Same here.

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments That's one of the pros of reading on an ereader, takes forever to flip through to the very end :)

That, my friend is why I want one.

Mayuri | 48 comments I actually don't like e readers. I like the old school ink and paper..... Even though I am not that old at all. XD

Same here, Mayuri! It's not that ereaders are bad or anything. I just prefer physical copies of books.

I've never tried one so I really can't say...

Anupriya In Allegiant, all the stuff about the genetic disorders and the two types of people- genetically pure, and genetically damaged- all this was a bit too stretched throughout the book. That was boring.
But it was interesting in parts. Like, when Tori dies and later it's revealed that her brother, is not dead. Similarly, how Amar (or Aman, what was his name?) was never really dead. I was keen to know what was outside the fence. And who Edith Prior was.
Uriah died! Seriously!?
Tris dies too. That had been a bit evident, because Roth added Tobias' POV in this book. But still, I cried when she died. The ending was ohmahgerd the feels when Tobias throws Tris' ashes while zip-lining :'D
I was really glad that Christina and Tobias become best friends :D
So I'll give the book 3.5 stars!

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments I do think that Veronica should have spaced out the huge information talk throughout the whole book and incorporated a bit more action. Aside from that I really enjoyed the character development and symbolism.

Mayuri | 48 comments I'm actually finding it a bit slow. It seems to be that there is no goal. The characters are dealing with their feelings in this new place most of the time. It could use more excitement.
I was also hoping to get more of Tris and Tobias's relationship, but they don't seem to be the same together anymore.
I hate how so many characters die by the the end of the book. I mean that loss is good in a book, even though you cry, because there have to be ups and downs, but how many of the original characters are left? And nobody takes there place. It was cool how Tris died for Caleb remembering what she had said earlier: "I wouldn't walk you to your execution" (or something like that), but. I wish she had told Caleb that.
I feel like this book was also low on inflection and emotion. I feel like I am only reading this because of Divergent and Insurgent. I waited so long and to be honest, I'm disappointed. The character development was also quite low.

Mayuri | 48 comments It was good, but not good enough.

Mayuri | 48 comments She could've really done more with the genetic disorders, but leaving the Edith Prior thing empty seemed like a waste... So much could've been done.

Rant over. I will come back to see what you think.

Same here! I totally felt like it was such a waste, the whole Edith Prior thing. And I found the book really predictable. I'm not sure I'd even recommend the series after this book!

Mayuri | 48 comments Yeah... Normally I recommend books I read(though the majority of my Gr 8 class would not read a book as big as this) but I'm hoping that Veronica Roth will improve on her next series. That is if there is one.

If there is one, I'm not sure I'd even read it after this book, honestly. I felt really let down. Though I guess I've ranted enough, so I'll just leave it at that. :P

Mayuri | 48 comments I know I couldn't help writing so much.... But that is me,I guess.

Haha, no, I get it. I definitely ranted on a few other threads, and for sure on my review. I guess I'm just all ranted out now though. But I liked your rants! :)

Mayuri | 48 comments Thanks... I think. I just get so into what I'm writing sometimes, but mostly I get carried away..... Far far away.

HEY! There I go again.
