Tracey | 304 comments I'm not sure if this is news to anyone but thought I'd share it for those who have iPads and iPhones.

I wanted to start cataloging my books and have come across an app called Book Crawler that seems fully integrated with goodreads. This means that I've been able to download the information I've put into goodreads already with ratings, tags for books to be read and and a whole lot more. If you want to add books into the app, there's also an ability to scan their bar codes to save time and numerous ways to do searches on collections etc. Theres also a quick button to look up reviews on goodreads too. Anyway, some of you might already have it, but if not, I thought it might be useful to alert you to it to keep track of your books.

Wow sounds great Tracey - I shall investigate forthwith.

Hilary | 2082 comments That sounds good. I've meant to try to catalogue my books for ages but all the typing put me off. The facility to read bar codes sounds great, I'll give it a try.

Tracey | 304 comments I'm just about to spend the next hour or so scanning mine in. I think they automatically find the latest book cover but if you've a different edition I think you can override it with a photo. I've also found you can email book covers and book details and tag books on loan. I'm starting to become very impressed with it.

Chuck | 1 comments I just purchased Book Crawler in my genesis effort to organize (finally!) my library (I had started doing a manual "add to an Excel spreadheet" labor when a friend told me about Crawler). As I began to enter books, I wondered if it was capable of connecting to Goodreads. A web search found this thread, so I'm glad to know it's possible.
While looking, I came across another, similar app: BookBuddy. It may be even more useful. Anyone heard of it? Used it?
ttfn, and as John Ciardi used to say, "Good words to you."

Ellie (theelliemo) Hi Chuck, and thanks for that, I shall investigate both apps, as I really need to get the ever growing piles of books under some level of control!
