Tina (javabird) | 765 comments Thank you. At least I'm not the only one having a hard time getting started.

message 3: by Nancy (new)

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments I'm at 5888, so I'm a little ahead. It's always easier for me to start then to finish.

message 4: by Gard (new)

Gard Skinner (gard_skinner) Much respect for your journey....

message 5: by Thane (new)

Thane | 476 comments Apparently I will be finished in April, if I don't pick up the pace. I'm one of those "agonize over word choice" writers.

message 6: by Reed (new)

Reed Bosgoed (ReedBosgoed) | 17 comments I'm up to 2800, so I'm behind but I've got nothing else to do for the rest of the day. Time to get to it.

message 7: by Trike (new)

Trike | 11190 comments Day 3.

Word count: 0.

iPhones purchased: 1.

Xmas presents bought: 2.

So far, so good.

Shaline Lopez | 42 comments 560. I rewrote that one page three times and I'm still not happy with it.

message 9: by Mike (new)

Mike | 41 comments 6676 as of last night. Haven't tried writing anything new in six years and it feels good to change up.

9694. I know. I've been thinking about this story all year and now that I'm writing it, it's like I'm binge-watching on Netflix. I just want to find out what happens next.

I'll stop humble-bragging now.

message 11: by Moonlitfractal (new)

Moonlitfractal | 15 comments I'm trying to add chapters to my existing project because I write super slowly. I'm at 512 since the beginning of the month, which is pretty good, for me.

Don't think that fear hasn't crossed my mind, lol.

message 13: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan | 185 comments 1000. Though I'm distracted by grad assistant work, course work and other writing work. So I've temporarily stalled out.

message 14: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Cardin | 68 comments 9100 on day 3. 'And then what happens?' is my mantra.

message 15: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 588 comments i think i'm at like 3500, which is a personal record for me-a little behind but ok with it

message 16: by Sky (new)

Sky Corbelli | 352 comments 5320 as of last night. I hate starting stories, and I hate having to get to the scenes that I already have planned out, but I'm nearly there now...

message 17: by Trike (new)

Trike | 11190 comments Day 4.

Word count: 0.

Closet doors fixed: 1.

Naps taken: 1.

Not. Panicking.

message 18: by Mike (new)

Mike | 41 comments So I started Friday afternoon after work, with the afternoon off and the weekend to look forward to. Turns out writing Monday after nine hours of drudgery is much harder. Only did 1200 words last night. Went to bed early. Want to quit my job.

message 19: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 96 comments I'm about 9k words now, but I'vs split my time across 3 writing projects I have on the go to make surethat if I block on one I have someplace else to go.

I'm disappointed in you, for some reason.

message 23: by Nancy (new)

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments I'm at 13,098. Got a good momentum going. I hope it lasts!

Going quite well.

message 25: by Lee (new)

Lee | 43 comments Day 7 - 14,019.

Anyone else think they're about to hit the wall?

message 26: by Dwayne (new)

Dwayne Caldwell | 141 comments Day 7 and I've put in 1,751 today so far, but I'm at 8,051 total so I'm not done yet. I lost a day so it's put me behind. Anyway, I've wasted enough words on this post. Back to binge writing.

message 27: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Cardin | 68 comments I should break 18k tonight. The words have been flowing well for me.

Day 8.

Word count: 1,795.

Ah, that's more like it.

Well, at least tomorrow I have to get up early to do my volunteer thing then talk to a plumber then go see Thor 2. So that should keep me comfortably off-track.

Instead of writing today, I made this:

message 29: by Shaline (new)

Shaline Lopez | 42 comments Well according to the website I'm on schedule to finish my book by the end of November....2014. Uh-oh.

message 30: by Mike (new)

Mike | 41 comments Up to 18101 words, did over 3000 today. Feeling pretty good about the story too.

message 31: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Swerbensky | 75 comments So, this is my first year participating. And I'm quite proud of the fact that I've already hit 16,989 words. It's been awhile since I've done any kind of substantial writing.

message 32: by Matthew (new)

Matthew (masupert) | 0 comments 15,257. Pretty pleased with myself. I wrote over 7,000 yesterday during the write-in.

message 33: by Shaline (new)

Shaline Lopez | 42 comments Only 3,275, but I am really proud of every word.

message 34: by Nancy (new)

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments Matthew wrote: "15,257. Pretty pleased with myself. I wrote over 7,000 yesterday during the write-in."

That's nuts! I've never written that much during one day.

I'm up to 24,056. Should pass the halfway mark tomorrow.

message 35: by Mike (new)

Mike | 41 comments Just over 20,000 myself. Only wrote about 1300 yesterday but left off where something big is about to happen and figured I'd start fresh today and get through it all in one go.

message 36: by Sky (new)

Sky Corbelli | 352 comments Ah, 3 day weekends, how I've missed you. Just shy of 15k words done from Saturday morning to Monday night, bringing me up to a hair over 30k. I mean, it's mainly word vomit, but at least it's lots of word vomit.

message 37: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Swerbensky | 75 comments I'm over 21,000 now. I've felt the last two days I was kind of pushing myself. I'm not sure I can keep this up...

message 38: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Lawrence | 60 comments I'm at 9000 for NaNoWriMo, Divide and conquer is not going well...

message 39: by Lee (new)

Lee | 43 comments 31,000

Why has every day become at least 1,667 words long...

message 40: by Nancy (new)

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments Up to 35,315!

Wow, it's going to take so much work to fix this one up.

message 41: by Jocelyn (new)

Jocelyn (jocelyn73c) | 4 comments At almost 39,000 words!! I'm pretty surprised it's going as well as it is for my first NaNo, but it's definitely just word vomit at the moment. Revision is going to be great :/ lol

message 42: by Mike (new)

Mike | 41 comments Just crossed the 30,000 mark last night.

message 43: by Daniel (new)

Daniel Eavenson (dannyeaves) | 127 comments Hoping to break through the 30K barrier tonight at a write-in. My characters have finally decided to stop talking to each other and go find the stupid giant snake they were supposed to find like 3K words ago. Stupid characters not doing what my outline said.

message 44: by Nancy (new)

Nancy O'Toole (temporaryworlds) | 135 comments Just broke through 40k myself. This has been one of the most awkwardly written novels ever. I'm now writing scenes that I forgot to write during the first couple weeks. When I get over my word goal for the, I go back and either add them in, or mark where still unwritten scenes will need to go. Clearly, I didn't do a great job of structuring this one.

message 45: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Anderson (shinimegami23) | 39 comments NaNoWriMo - 31,753 as of last night. I seem to be hovering around a days worth of words ahead. Its probably a good thing, cause I know something is going to come up and I'll lose a day of writing...

Divide and Conquer - 806 :( Maybe that will be what I take the day from writing to do, write something else...

message 46: by Mike (new)

Mike | 41 comments Daniel wrote: "Hoping to break through the 30K barrier tonight at a write-in. My characters have finally decided to stop talking to each other and go find the stupid giant snake they were supposed to find like 3..."

Your novel has giant snakes too? I thought I was the only one.

Dwayne Caldwell | 141 comments Daniel wrote: "Hoping to break through the 30K barrier tonight at a write-in. My characters have finally decided to stop talking to each other and go find the stupid giant snake they were supposed to find like 3..."

lol! That's awesome!

message 48: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Swerbensky | 75 comments I'm shocked and surprised that I'm now over 42,000 words. Only now I'm dismayed that this particular story is going to be well over 50,000.

message 49: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 7 comments I reached 36000 last night...it seems harder and harder to write. Each time I start the day, thinking I have nothing I can write about (the story is not finished, but I don't know what to add), luckily, I find a scene or two I can sneak in... Not sure if that will work all the way to the end though....

message 50: by Sophie (new)

Sophie Anderson (shinimegami23) | 39 comments Lisa, I'm feeling that way right now too. Everyone talks about the week two doldrums, but for me, week three is ALWAYS the hardest. And then week 4 is a mad dash to make up for week three...
